Basically. Production IG, who did FLCL and the Eva films. Gurren Lagaan is made by Gainax, who's worked with IG in the past, but not on Lagaan.

I often get the two confused :p

ditto, my only critique would be to crop the letterboxing out. at the end there were a couple scenes that filled in the black.

Fixed. They were still collaborations with GAiNAX and Studio Khara respectively. It's worth noting that this guy was rather involved with all four (I mean FLCL, Dead Leaves, TTGL, and the NGE movies).

I enjoyed the zoom in on Retro's sex face. Only thing that really stood out as weird was the pair of clips showing the adult baby shooting stuff in space. It's the only time you ever show him, and the color scheme makes it really noticeable. Some of the clips also don't quite feel as energetic as the song (specifically the guard head zoom is really smooth for such a drum heavy section). Other than that, you've got some nice flow. I especially liked the scene where Retro throws his fist in the air, and another prisoner falls back like he got punched.

lol, Retro punching the prisoner wasn't even intentional but I love the connection, that's great.

I see what you're saying about the flying adult baby shots, the color scheme switch being too abrupt. And maybe I'll switch the guard head zoom with something more intense. The energy does die down at that point. Glad you dug Retro's closeup though.
