Youmacon 2009 MV Contest Finalists

All videos status has been updated in the system. Your videos will either have the status Video Accepted, Accepted for Overflow, or Problems Found. Videos accepted for overflow have been cut from the contest or were submitted as exhibition and will not be shown during the contest block but rather during the con during free play blocks. Videos that have been accepted will compete. Obviously videos that have problems found will not compete or be shown.

For those of you who had videos cut I must apologize. We received a record number of entries this year which went way beyond what we were expecting. In order to attain the 4 hour contest block we had set aside we had to cut entries. Next year we will make it a point to inform you of the final running time we will be shooting for (most likely 4 hours again) and inform you of how entries will be cut. We had a rigorous viewing session where we judged videos based off of final video quality and general enjoyment, we then balanced the categories based off of this rating.

Those of you attending the convention will be able to view the contest one of 3 times:

Friday 5PM - 9PM
Saturday 8AM - 12PM
Sunday 12PM - 4PM

The contest award ceremony will be held Saturday night at 8 PM.

All showings will be in the Video/Audio Track room.

I have been assured that the awards this year will be awesome. I have not seen them myself, however our supplier does a great job. Please remember that if you are not going to be at the convention and plan to have a proxy available to pick up your award you need to send your proxy's name to me so I will be able to authorize giving the award out to them. Also, remember that while Youmacon will ship awards out to winners who are not in attendance, we will not pay for international shipping however. And finally, winners who are in attendance will receive an extra bonus.
