Soldiers of Athlum

Post by Fizziks » Sun Aug 30, 2009 11:18 am

So, this video came about for a couple of reasons:
1) I wanted to try editing a video entirely to video game footage
2) I really wanted to finally edit something to this particular song, and I thought this game matched the overall feel of the song nicely

The video itself is a simple, no effects AMV, but I think it turned out pretty well. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Overall a nice GMV, but things i didn't like was the low framerate of the footage and of course the lack of effects. I know you did that on purpose, but still, if you could put some fade outs and such, it could become more... extreme. Not that your straight cuts was something that bothered me... :D

I'd give it a 3/5

Thanks for the comment! I considered putting some effects in this video, but as I worked through the video, I decided that it would be better if I kept it relatively simple.

Glad you enjoyed the video!

I haven't played the 360 version of The Last Remnant myself, but all the reviews I've read say that the PC version is definitely the better version due to better framerates and more features. In any case, I really recommend you check it out if you get the chance. In my opinion it's a great JRPG.

Thanks man! I'm glad you liked both vids.

The music seemed familiar and took me some time to remember its origins... Berserk ost is one of my favorites :)

From my point of view, there was some synch "mistakes" but using footage from The last remnant which at least for me it was a good game, in the end i liked the combination...

So 5/5 from me :)

Meh. I'm not gonna lie. I think this suffers from the same problem most vgamv's suffer from.

Lack of footage for editing consistancy. Sync is decent here other then mood and the flow don't match well to the pace of the music either in most places. Probably from lack of material to work with.

2/5

Sorry bro, not one of your better works but nothin wrong with tryin somethin new.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
