Weird Things Going On With My Video...?

Post by TeamCanadia » Fri Jul 24, 2009 11:02 am

I decide to fix up one of my AMVs a tad. Nothing major, just some lipsync fix and replace a few scenes.

And that is when I noticed that some of my footage (from Fullmetal Alchemist) seemed to be bobbing up and down for no good reason. At first I chalked it off to the fact they were on a train, but then I realized Mustang, sitting at his desk while on the phone, was bobbing up and down too.

I've gone through the guides a few times, and I didn't see anything about this bobbing. I'm feeling a little stupid right now. On top of everything, I didn't even know which forum this should go in.

If you want to take a look for yourself, it's most noticeable at the beginning and the end of the video. I have to admit, I didn't actually notice until I'd played the video quite a few times. Sorry?

So...does anyone know what it is/how to fix it?

You need to IVTC your footage.

Thank-you- so I have printed off and read several chapters of the Guides, and I have uploaded all new versions of everything I need. I am in AvsP and could only get a .wmv version to open, but not .avi or the .mpg versions.

With the .wmv file, I cannot get it to recognize the line AMVIVTC(decimate=1).

I feel way in over my head, but still trying!

Is your source from dvd? Or what? Where did you get the wmv that you are trying to fix?

I ripped several legit DVD's -many different sources. I edited and made my AMV in Premiere Elements.
Then I found this problem in my exported AMV. I am really trying hard to solve this problem. I exported in several formats from Premiere Elements. (I was really trying to fix the mpg file.)

I appreciate your patience!

Okay! Sooo...We've converted the AMV to a d2v and we can now open it in virtualdubmod...

That is, yet again, until we try to use the AMVIVTC function. It still is telling us that there is no such function.

(Nooo...We're bad people and aren't sticking the raw footage through yet. Dx)

Code: Select all

MPEG2Source  ("C:\yourfolder\blah.d2v")
deint = TDeint(mode=2, mtnmode=3, blim=100)
TFM(cthresh=4, slow=2, clip2=deint)
TDecimate(mode=1)
Try doing it like that.

It didn't work. It claims there are no such functions.

Am I missing some plugins? I scoured the forums and stumbled upon the 'release' post for AMVIVTC and downloaded the plugins that are 'required' there.
And here is where I get to sound like the idiot I seem to be. (I've read all the guides I can get my hands on. I just am not computer savy as the people who write the guides)

...How do I get the program to recognize the plugins?

This morning we uninstalled EVERYTHING and reinstalled so now the plugins work. Yeah!

We have tried the last suggested script by mrkosp, tried AMVIVTC, and AMV Deint changing different parameters.

I am thrilled everything is working, but sad that we still have the same problems with interlacing and "bobbing up and down".

Code: Select all

sauce = last.converttorgb32()
even = sauce.selecteven().crop(0,1,0,0).addborders(0,0,0,1)
odd = sauce.selectodd()
interleave(even,odd).converttoyv12()
You'll have a black pixel at the bottom every other frame so you might want to overcrop from the various sides after that, but that'll fix the bobbing.
