The Good Ship Lifestyle

Hello all. I welcome you again to another one of my firsts: My first serious AMV outside of the OWNED PIECE series; "The Good Ship Lifestyle"!

I got the inspiration for this when I was listening to a Chumbawamba CD, and noticed that the lyrics were about sailing and ships and such. I just put that together with my immense love of ONE PIECE and eventually came up with the idea for this AMV. It basically illustrates the choices Usopp and Luffy hade to make about their Lifestyles after Usopp leaves the crew. It goes on to show how fate and loss brings them back together and in reconciliation they reunite.

I'm also exited to say that this AMV also was accepted into 2 AMV contests as finalists!

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have!

Getting Got this.

I LOVE this song...

...and was subsequently turned off by how literal the sync was. I suppose I should have expected it, being one piece and all, but I just think it failed to do justice to the music, which is pretty much entirely metaphorical. Chumbawumba is a very, very political group, and just don't think I am capable of seeing this video the way you intended it.

Dude, I'm listening to this album right now, and then I see this thread? Fuck yes. Will report back after I watch the video.

That's fair enough. I also enjoy most Chumbawamba's music, and I could see how being literal with the lyrics would seem blasphemous, but before I go looking for a Scapegoat, I'll simply say that I wanted an AMV that left people screaming "I WANT MORE"! I might suffer from long term memory loss (Amnesia?), But if we aren't creative with words then AMVs wouldn't require as much imagination (there are millions think just like me, an Outsider). Again, I'm sorry if my AMV has left you Creepy Crawly, but it's OK. When I get knocked down, I'll get up again.

Well played, sir. Well played.

I enjoyed it for the most part. The lip sync felt kind of weird, and the flashes were a bit much for me, but overall it came together pretty nicely. I liked that you added in dialogue from the show, though I'd have probably liked it more if I could understand what they're saying. You definitely succeeded at making me excited that Viz is gonna catch me up soon.

Quite, has Pontius Pilot seen your AMV yet? I hear he's the leader of the union now.
