· All videos must be in the hands of the Contest Coordinator by October 9th. You have until MIDNIGHT on that Friday night to get your video in. (all times Eastern)
· Only videos created after November 3rd 2006 will be accepted as competing entries. All others will be deemed exhibition entries.
· There is no limit to the number of entries per creator that can be submitted to the contest.
· Only 1 video per category, per creator, will be allowed to compete.

Well, posting the rules like that is a little odd, but they seem normal enough. Or what did I miss?
EDIT
Ahhhh. I see. The emoticon is the AMV? one.

Re: Youmacon 2009 Music Video Contest Rules
That makes it sound like the footage doesn't even have to be anime. Is Youmacon like Fanime in that respect? (ie. videos can be made with movies, TV shows, etc instead of just anime or Japanese video games?)ngsilver wrote:· **NEW** There are no content requirements for this contest. Re: Youmacon 2009 Music Video Contest Rules
To help quell confusion, the rule on source requirements is that any source is allowed. Yes, that means you can submit a live action video if you desire. Yes, you can submit a self drawn self animated video if you so desire. Much like AWA, we will take anything now. Normally we would require 50% anime (which was traditionally defined as japanese anime and japanese video games) but now that rule no longer exists. This also means that we will now accept Avitar videos as well.
Just like has been observered, this is no longer an AMV contest. This is due to the gradual change in direction of the department and room itself at Youmacon from an AMV department/room to a VAT (standing for Video/Audio Track.) The VAT encompass the realm of fan created video works, and due to this change the contest itself also will now accept all fan created video works. And yes, this means it doesn't have to be exactly a music video either, though it is encouraged that it is. We are only taking small steps to hopefully cause the least amount of confusion.
In a nut shell, this is not an AMV contest, but a MV contest. However, if it is that confusing, I can change the name to a VAT Contest. I just don't want to be confused for AWA's VAT contest.
