Liar's Remorse

Post by SQ » Thu Jun 11, 2009 10:26 pm

I leave for basic training on june 23, 2009.
I learned this news approximately a week a go.

I haven't edited anything in a damn long time. I wanted to finish editing SOMETHING before I went to boot camp. And here it is. :)
For better or for worse, this video was finished. My goal was achieved.

Now, for you:
Even if there is a serious time of war, is lying truly the path that should be taken?
Lying, even for good intentions, will only cause pain and misery.
This is what "Liar's Remorse" is about.
I'm not going to say this AMV is the most amazing thing ever.
I haven't seen any other Code Geass AMVs so I really can't compare.
But I'd like to think mine's innovative thought-provoking artsy .... not boring.

For better or for worse, regardless if you do not like the AMV or you do, I enjoyed making it, and I'm glad I finished it, and that's what matters most to me. :3

Although if other people like this, that's cool too. xD
Hopefully when I get out of basic/school/etc. I will find time to start editing for real again.

Edit:
Oh hey, an edit button is in this forum too? Snazzy.
/behindthetimes

edit2:
I would appreciate comments/criticism too. xD

That was great. I liked your use of series audio. and overall it was a lovely character profile.

I had a hard time taking it seriously though, because early today I'd heard that same song in an emo parody sketch, and I couldn't get it out of my head.

Well, that sucks because of the context. But I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.
The series audio... I knew I wanted to do the first bit. That was actually what sort of inspired the AMV- was that particular episode.
But the second part of it, that was difficult. It changed places many times, and originally it had more to it (Rolo as well).
But, I think I managed to get it... Just right. Thank you. =3

Do you remember what the emo parody sketch was?
I'd be interested in seeing.

Yeah, I actually just finished the series today. So this was just the amv I was looking for. I'm sure given some time I'll be more receptive to the song as well.

Not actually an emo parody, (though they do have one) The song's just kinda used in that sense.

XDDD You're right, that parody totally changes everything. xDDD
But, This is what you get when you mess with us. xP

Thank you for linking that.

I started this before I finished the series. Mistake, I suppose. I saw the ending without sound after I had gottent he footage, and I had built it up to be so epic in my mind that when I actually saw the ending on TV I was actually disappointed!
But, it didn't affect the story I was trying to make with the AMV, so that's alright.

I actually went searching for other Code Geass AMVs after making this thread. Seems that all of them are action videos (At least on the tube, anyway). I suppose Code Geass makes good action fodder, but I would've assumed there might be more character profiles... Maybe I'm not looking very well. xD

We should probably stop talking, though. I'm assuming this is getting a little too far Off topic.
But it's nice speaking with you anyway, I've enjoyed your posts in General AMV, ever since I started lurking again. :)
I was happy when it was you to reply to my AMV Announcement thread.

Ironically enough I was thinking just last night how I'd like to do a video to Karma Police =p

/gets

While it was pretty well edited I have to say the series just didn't feel dark enough to me. Now, I havn't seen Code Gaess so that may also add to me not liking the video too much as a whole. The editing itself was well done tho, snazzy stuff.

Thanks guys.

Sorry it wasn't impressive.

I guess, someone has to be the average editor in order for others to be below/above the bar.

edit:

Ara, the video wasn't necessarily supposed to portray the anime as 'dark' per se, just that when you lie, there are severe consequences.

I was trying to make the AMV able to be understood by those who haven't seen the anime (At least in the 'liars = bad' sense) but I guess I can't accomplish everything. =P

Thank you for viewing/replying, though.

I think overall this was great, the only advice I could give is try to not use scenes where people are talking, it kind of distracts from the flow of the video to have useless random movements especially in the mouths because people are looking there for lip sync. Overall the video had a solid flow and a good character depth on lelouch and lelouch and suzaku's relationship. I enjoyed this and its one of the better of the few code geass amvs I've seen.
