Width of the signature
I am aware that this might be not necessary, but...
Has anyone thought about making the size limit for banners larger in the horizontal mean?
I know that 600 pixels wide is pretty enough for the most of the people, but I also think that it was supposed mainly to keep the forums nice when they weren't fullscreen as they are now (or was it?). And those signatures are somewhat small when I look at them compared to the screen.
And while I know that there are people with 800x600 and 1024x768 screens, I also know that this minimum shifted up today and that said percent of users is fairly small (or so I think - is there a way to find out that info on forums? :> ).
So... will this be reconsidered? I would be for 800x80 (that 80 thing is a nice height and totally useful, might me)... but it's just a proposal...

Lets see her response. And as for mine, I don't really care. I'd say don't do it, since it's not really necesarry.Nya-chan Production wrote:hasteroth :<

it could be a nice idea, but I don't really have much of a signature anyway, so i don't care much

Re: Width of the signature
I'm pretty sure the sig restrictions were put in place at a time when the majority of people on the internet were using dial-up and they were trying to limit the number of things that had to be loaded on a screen at once. I wouldn't really care since I don't use sig images that much, but I don't see anything wrong with upping the size.

Re: Width of the signature
I don't really care if it changes so long as it remains reasonable. What I don't want is to see posts wherein the signature is 10 times the length of the actual post. The forums that allow that irritate me to no end. >_>
(Yes, I realize the first post had a reasonable size, 800x80...I'm just sayin'.)
Clearly, you can see how much I use the signature space.

Re: Width of the signature
Same here, though I am more bothered by forums which have people talking in single words and having 1000x1000 siggies... >___>LivingFlame wrote:I don't really care if it changes so long as it remains reasonable. Reasonability is a must, I agree...

I dunno...I think it looks a bit neater the way it is...then again I have my resolutions set to 1024x768.

THINK OF THE DIAL-UP USERS! THINK OF US ;_;
Truthfully I don't see the need to increase signature dimensions, after all they should really only inform users of what new AMVs you made or contain links to useful/interesting sites. I don't see how making them any larger would help that, other than make them more obvious (which I don't really think is required)

That link is safe, but bear in mind the rest of Shimmie can be NSFW.
