  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Kara no Kyoukai: Can you see AMV

Post by Azure Vermillion » Tue May 19, 2009 4:17 am

Okay I've reuploaded the video. It's now a clean version with no watermark
So I hope you enjoy it^^
Some feedback is greatly appreciated!

Spoilers ahoy!

Any playback issues, Install FFDShow or CCCP. I used a H.264 codec for compression the video.

So why did you write your nickname over the whole amv? Do you think it's that important for the audience to know?

I did it because I have had my work stolen in the past. I've given out download links to my amvs before and days after I've seen it uploaded on youtube/another streaming site, without credit.
Some people have even gone as far as to claim it as their own piece of work.
I know it detracts from the viewing, but hey, I work hard on producing these with the little amount of free time I have, So I don't want ramdom people ripping off my work.

hey mate. I'm from WA. Come join my studio's forum, we're an aussie studio and have people from WA, SA, VIC, QL and ACT on the forums, we need more NSW presence =P http://www.amvience.com/forum/index.php

As for your vid, I liked it but you went overboard with the size of your watermark so it was very distracting =( I can see why though, since a lot of people do steal works, sad reality but most of us just deal with it. I think a mid size one n the top right would have worked better, not too big but enough to make it noticeable if the vid gets cropped to get rid of it.

You know, we have conventions in most capital cities which see thousands of anime fans attending...

Could you please get rid of the watermark from your video and re-uplaod it, its very distracting and really takes away a lot from the video. Other than that I was fairly impressed. Its good work for a new Aussie editor

Haha, my statement was slightly exaggerated so it wasn't to be taken to heart... I was just saying is somewhat of a niche market where I live. I live somewhat close to sydney, but it's too much hassle trying to make my way to conventions and stuff.

Would it be best just to resize the watermark and move it out of the eye's focus, or should I just remove it completely?
And sorry to ask such a stupid question, but since I am new to the org, I am terrible at navigating around it.
But how would I go about deleting my video? would I flag it as a bad upload?
or can I delete it entirely?
Sorry guys, I am just not that familiar with the processes involved here.

I say remove it completely. That way you can also submit it to the various AMV competitions around Australia without it being disqualified.

to request local deletions:

Remove it completely. Watermarks aren't generally used on a-m-v.org and are considered unnecessary. There's no way to completely prevent people stealing your work. There's that many videos cataloged here that I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about by putting up a non-watermark version of your video.
