For all my fellow VN players, what is your favourite Visual Novel and why?

Mine is Clannad

Because I'm too lazy to explain it myself

Absolutely the best VN I have ever played, sorry folks no ero.

And I shouldn't have to explain why, I think you've all figured it out by now.

Tokimeki Check-In

Image

It's short, simple, sexy, and it came with instructions for getting the good stuff.
Only one I ever finished.

But that might change...

Yeah I saw that coming. I think you ought to play Saya no Uta, it suits your tastes... I think. I mean I liked it so... that might be the nail in the coffin right there... though I also want to play Katawa Shoujo...

The only ones I've even played substantially were Tsukihime (and the PLUS DISK), and Kagetsu Tohya. Still haven't finished KT. Oh, and both of the Do You Like Horny Bunnies? games. I tried to play PEACE@PIECES (points at avatar; <3 Nagi), but considering there's no English player's walkthroughs I was fumbling around in the dark, and gave up because I didn't know WTF was going on. Something about schoolgirls that double as shinigami-in-training, their teacher, and I couldn't gather much else from it. I did also try to play BRA-BAN!, but that ended similarly also.

Out of all those, it's pretty safe to say my vote's going to Tsukihime (favorite routes tied between Arcueid and Kohaku, pretty self-explanatory as to why). There's more that I have lined up to play, but once more I'd prefer them to be, you know, in English. I'd actually like to enjoy the storyline, is that too much to ask?

I've only really went through 2 VNs but I doubt i'll ever find one better then "Kana: Little Sister" so it's favorited regardless.

I doubt I'll ever have another experience like this one with a VN. I died a little inside at the end. Had trouble sleeping, eating, ... being social for a few days. I don't know, i'm not usually an emotional kind of person but for some reason this VN just tore me apart. I'd recommend it to just about anyone for the experience/storyline over the Hscenes, its actually the only reason I played it. A friend recommended it and I'm glad he did.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

All time favorite has to be Tsukihime, it created a very in-depth storyline the characters story arc though separated into two arc sections the characters in those sections blended together really well. Sacchin finally has the option to have her own route happy now Sacchin? The sequel Kagetsu Tohya I did beat, though it contains more character information the complexity of arriving to the finishing point makes it more of a struggle then enjoyment. So even though i have played probably 20-30 more visual novels since this one its the only one I have come back to play about four or five times now.
Image I stream and stuff o.o

Yup, Tsukihime was the first and only Visual Novel I have played. In short it was amazing. My favourite routes would have to be Arcueid's and Hisui's
It also allowed me to venture into Type-moon's other works such as Fate/Stat Night, Kara no Kyoukai and Kagetsu Tohya.
I read through Fate/Stay Night recently, Never got to finish Kagestu Tohya as there were just too many choices and myself being stubborn, didn't want to consult the flowchart. I'll get back to it one day though, when I have more free time
But Tsukihime will always remain my favourite.

I agree as well. I never thought anything would ever beat Clannad.

If only they would make an anime...
