Why was my AMV deleted?
Hello! I just discovered that an AMV I uploaded here about a year ago has been deleted, and I'd like to know why. I don't know when it was removed--sometime after last October, which is when it received its last opinion. I was not notified that the video was up for deletion, which is why this is a bit of a shock. Can someone explain why my video was removed?

Re: Why was my AMV deleted?
Avatar is not considered an anime from the definition of anime on this site.

Well yeah because Avatar wasn't made by a Japanese company.

Re: Why was my AMV deleted?
Well, yeah, I understand that's why I'm not allowed local storage here. But there's an Avatar category, with numerous AMVs in it, some with thousands of hits on them.
When I uploaded the video and selected "Avatar: The Last Airbender" as the anime, the site informed me that I would not be allowed local storage space, but allowed me to continue with the video entry creation process. Are Avatar videos only allowed if they contain some amount of native Japanese animation?

Must be at least 51% real anime to locally host.

That's fine--I have my own hosting. Why was the AMV record in the database deleted, though?

Re: Why was my AMV deleted?
Because it was entirely non-anime.

Re: Why was my AMV deleted?
Because the catalog is only for anime music videos (and as mentioned earlier, Avatar isn't anime by the org's defenition.)

Re: Why was my AMV deleted?
The entry itself is not allowed - irregardless of wheter or not it's on local. They keep records of confirmed non-anime titles as well. It helps with finding things that shouldn't be in the database (people can also make vids with lots of various sources).ComputerSherpa wrote:That's fine--I have my own hosting.
