Lah De Freaking Dah

Well, here's a quickie video I did for a friend, and I kind of liked it. Sure, it's not the culmination of awesomeness that I originally had planned, but I was tired of going back and forth from the many DVD's and Sources getting footage (many of which I have to thank said friend for loaning me!).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy! I went outside my usual comfort zone on this one.

Awsome...
/gets

Sooo, it was okay...for me at least. It just wasn't my type of video. It just seemed really boring, and the way you edited didn't seem to fit the song.

It wasn't totally boring. I'll give it that. There, I've said something nice. Now for the rest:

-Your editing was very sporadic. Fast-slow-fast-slow-happy-sad-fun-sad-happyfast-slowsad without transition kept me from getting pulled in like this song could have made me.
-Likewise, while various anime would be a necessity, there was no transition between them. Straight cuts are alright, but going through vastly different animation styles and scene pacings so quickly was not good.
-Lastly, the borders. Dear Bog... THE MOTHERLOVING BORDERS!

Lol. I knew I'd get raped on the borders.

Well, I guess I'll just have to try a different approach next time. This just proved my point that I'm not all that great editing anything except sentimental/drama. But, like I said, I was trying go outside my usual box and try something different. I failed, but a learning experience was gained from it all.

Thanks for all the comments!

Well, you see...

Like I said. This was a request from a friend of mine who is taking summer courses in multimedia at the same college I go to. My friend knew I was an editor and one of the very first things that she was assigned to do in the class was to create a "Sing Along" video. Because she was allowed to use outside sources for the video editing (the assignment was more about the actual animations provided with the sing along words), I provided the unique editing and anime, while she did the sing along words and animations that would go above and below the actual video, hence the borders are the sizes that she requested. The borders on the left and the right are for animations as well.

I typically wouldn't have EVER edited in that format, but by the time I had the video finished, I was too lazy to go back and re-rip all the footage. If she ever finishes her animations, I'll probably put up a link eventually to the finished collaborated project.

I thought it was cute. Borders didn't really bother me because they were consistent throughout so I could just ignore it. A few of your gltt scenes seemed out of place in this, scenes with her running and looking sad while 'Zippity doo da what a wonderful day was playing' I remember an snl skit with hanson a few years ago where they get stuck in an elevator and mmbop keeps playing until eventually they all kill themselves, that would be me with this song if I had to listen to it any longer. Minus for the gltt scenes, I thought you chose them well though I was waiting for the comedy to kick in... everyones happy then bam everyones dead and your dog just got raped. But it's cute as is, you can kill everyone off in the next one

I thought it was a nice video. I liked the fun and laid back feel of this AMV. My only criticism would be that I thought that certain animes you used (e.g. Escaflowne, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) felt a bit out of place.
