David Yip's and forever [dreaming]

Post by quadir » Tue Apr 28, 2009 10:05 pm

Hey, long time no see.

So I'm continuing to feature amvs among many other things on my video blog.

David Yip (trythil)'s and forever [dreaming].

Enjoy. This is one of my favorite amvs from the colour use to composition and simple flow.
23:19 (snip) I actually agree with everything quadir says.

Good to see you back quadir. I missed you around here.

Nice video pick. Great mix of old-school editing with effects that aren't too overbearing or technical. Great atmosphere and sync as well...good job David. I'd overlooked this one. Too bad you don't edit anymore ;_;

Good stuff!

For some reason, I keep looking for a 'Like' option here like they have on Facebook. :sweat:

This was the only AMV on my 100 Favorite Videos list (which has since grown to three) for a very long time. It's just that good.

However, I have to wonder if anyone went out and bought Escaflowne (the movie, not Escaflowne) on the strength of this video. If anyone did, I kind of feel sorry for him/her. :P

Thus spawned a mountain of mediocre 'dreaming' videos. don't know why it bugs me either.

I hope not. The movie was awful, and this video is definitely stronger than the original source. Movie!Hitomi is so emo, after being a huge fan of the series, I was really like, "Well, whatever, just DIE then, bitch."

I dunno I liked the movie. Like, present... than again my tastes are probably opposites of Kio's (or at least contrasting) as I hated the series and didn't care for hitomi either way. It's the music and artistic direction (not counting hitomi... but at least her snoz aint gargantuan) that got me to pick up the LE cigar box and ost.
