Revenge of the MISA!

Post by CorpseGoddess » Mon Apr 13, 2009 2:06 am

I loved making this vid, both for the challenge of matching the imagery to the lyrics and because I was so sold on the concept. For me, the hilarity comes from the mild-mannered way in which the awful things she's saying are recounted; I was pleasantly surprised to find that Death Note actually contained most of the visuals I needed (with a little manipulation).

Plus, I'm pleased to have created a DN vid where only L's leg appears! It was nice to shift the focus off the Light/L combo for a change.

I hope you enjoy.

Oh...and if you haven't watched Death Note all the way through there is DEFINITELY a spoiler alert on for you.

I don't know what everyone else will think, But I rather enjoyed it.

It looked overfiltered at certain points, and the lip sync could use some work, but I found myself chuckling at a few parts. HAHA, Ein chewing on Light's leg was awesome.

4/5 Good job.

Well this was pretty fun to watch. The quality could've been a bit better, but still

Yeah, this vid is definitely "offbeat", but so is most of Christine Lavin's music. I actually thought people would just be stunned by the verbosity (which is one of the reasons the visuals were so important for me to get right), but I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Read on for filter comments.

And the Ein bit still makes *me* laugh every time I watch it. I think that's some comeuppance we'd all like to see Light get. :P

Just shows how jello my brain is from the weekend...I read this and thought, "Why is he laughi---oh." DUH. Funnily enough, I'm such a dork that I had the thread name picked out ages ago and didn't even make the connection until this afternoon. Pretty funny, indeed. :D

Yeah, my filters with DN are something I'm still struggling with---I think I need to do some more filter research. The original Jin-Roh source, however, was even more horrible and murky than that finished couple of clips I used ("marijuana-sniffing dogs")---that was the best I could do to clean it up and still have it match the Death Note colour palette. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

I enjoyed that. Some of the lipflap looked kind of weird, but then I noticed that it was because her jaw moved too. You used some pretty clever editing though; I especially liked the notebook floating down onto the ski crash and your revolving door trick. Unless, of course, that was actually a clip of a revolving door that I just don't remember. I'm going to pretend it isn't though.

So tell me, have you ever considered actually editing something funny instead of just hoping the funny song will carry the video? There was nothing to make it better than just listening to a mp3, and a mp3 would have a much smaller filesize.

I think this would have been funnier if L was lip-synced to it instead...
Misa is too far up Light's butt to sing this kind of song to him

...well, that's kind of the point. I gave Misa a chance to say the things she never would.

And the L/Light thing is so old, that just seemed obvious to me. But eh.
