Soppy video release day

that's my excuse and a certain other person *jabbs eva-fan in the ribs* was also supposed to be releasing today so i went and did all my little fixes and finished the credits only to find that FEAR 2 had claimed him as a victim

So here's 2 i've been sitting on.



Valentines video for the depressed and emo (has nothing to do with valentines day just as a good excuse to release) i wont say happy valentines day because after this it proly wont be so happy anymore


This video was made for the iron editor competition at Wai-con and with it and subsequent wins at ai-con a week later Valkyrie studios has ownership of Australia ... it's been a long batte against amvience but i'm sure the resistance movement is gathering to strike back at us when we least expect it.... also Lock you can send me your crown(aka chef hat) in the mail now
Edited in 24 hours, audio was chosen from a pool of 10 songs, had to include 10 seconds minimum of the sekrit sauce which was cowboy beebop the movie x_x, We also had to provide a list of sources we could edit with and 1 was randomly picked for us to use.

oh yeah forgot i did this a few weeks ago... only 2 hours IC though so you can see where it falls apart in the second half

Its like twice as good as the first version i ever saw of this. Seems long but the slow paced drama just kinda builds up the more it goes so its not really a problem. Wonder how many people will figure out the ending without being told . Everything from the suicide scene up is perfect.

Not your best work but it turned out decent for a drama amv overall. I'll check out the other one tomorrow and edit this post probably.

Well you know what I think about your IC, it was like first watch "oh shit, she's won" =P

Hmm the Vampire Knights vid. I like it... but its just way too long =x I mean I like how you've covered like every character and their stories but the song really lacks energy and climax so yeah think maybe cutting 1:30 from this song would have been good if you could, but it would probably mean cutting out one of the characters so there is a sense of compromise there. But yeah as someone who has watched all of VK + VK Guilty I liked the vid

I was really tossing up whether to write the story synopsis of not, i think this one is pretty obvious what's going on even for people who haven't seen the series, but i thought i'd do it anyway since people generally suck at using telepathy to know what i was thinking while editing . i finally plucked up the courage to cut out the mini shizuka girl segments and apply the hack saw to parts, it was just annoying that i couldn't cut the song down without taking a huge chunk of the story away. I gotta say the last parts deffinately my favourite as well only needed a tweaks from when i first put it on the timeline... it was probably the only bit that just flowed editing wise the rest was a real struggle.... good thing i had action IC's to edit on the side or i would have gone nuts just making drama.

lol yeah i like the one i spent 10 hours on better than the one i spent 2 months on too, i think you can tell that the macross video is more my style than the VK one

to be honnest i wasn't so sure you were still editing yours(and i watched the ending and thought KICKING AAASSSS!!), Lock had finished his(song thief!! prod has dibs on that one :p), Drew was going the revhead angle, then there was the funny one that i just didn't get until the very end and the others weren't bad.
Heh link me and i'll update thethread... i've actually got all the vids since they were copied over to my lappy for the screening if anyone is after them.... since their owners haven't uploaded them.
You're right about the VK vid the minimum i could have cut out was actually 1.30 just because of the way the song goes... I actually found the single version was 1 minute shorter after i'd completed the whole damn timeline and several beta's since uggh, heh i'd actually already cut the song twice, damn it was long.
