For the videos however I have to be honest - they're a throwback to about 2002, and unfortunately that's not necessarily a good thing. There's simplicity which may be a good thing, but then there's all the technical traits of problems common in that age - video quality inadequate for size, subtitles, often-silly use of canned transitions...
I enjoyed the Black Jack video but in part that's owing to the source. Even with that you could've done a lot more - timing-wise there was a lot there that wasn't really used when it could've been. At times it was also quite repetitive; some of the scenes that repeated could've done with a bit of variation or used as overlays.
It'd be very good if you could get up to date at least on technical terms - video quality issues and subs should really be things of the past by now, even if you don't have top-quality footage source...
Thanks, I'm a little sorry that the thesis is finished, because I'm having a "WHAT THE HE** DO I DO WITH MYSELF NOW??" time right now! LOL!!!
As for the technical stuff: you're probably right on that as well, but until I get a permant job (rather than the temp work I've been doing) there's no way to upgrade my computer and my editing program. Actually, I hadn't ever heard of an amv in 2002, so I guess I'm a little behind the times all the way around! LOL!!!
Hey, baby steps, right?? We all have to learn somehow, so I'm still in AMV grade school!! LOL!!
But, thanks for the suggestions!! Once I do upgrade, and learn how to use the thing, I may go back and revisit some of my videos and re-edit them and see what happens. That's allowed, right? Hahaha!! I've no desire to go up against you lot at a con contest or anything, because you guys would mop the floor with me!
But, quiz me on Anne Rice and gothic lit and I'll give you a run for your money!!
