Mezzo: Mikura's Music
This vid is primarily a character profile of Mikura, the main character in Mezzo. Though there is one sad scene, which has links to the movie Mezzo Forte, the emphasis of the vid is on action with a fun, wink-and-a-nod attitude, much like the series itself.
Unlike many of my vids, there is no over-arching story to the vid. Instead it's comprised of a series of segments which depict various aspects of Mikura's personality and attitude, from her throw-caution-to-the-wind, acrobatic action scenes, to her mentoring of young Asami.
The song is a positive, upbeat number which I think will be enjoyed by anyone who likes their pop music with a touch of soul.
The song lyrics contain several very specific descriptions of the singer's personality and attitude towards life, so it stands to reason that at least one of them wouldn't fit with Mikura's personality, and indeed we have that with the line "When something gets in my way, I go 'round it." If something gets in Mikura's way, she just blasts her way right through it, and so I went for some ironic humor and picked a scene which involved Mikura, a locked door, and her shotgun. Later on in the vid I went with irony again with the line "Ain't got no trouble in my life," since Mikura does have troubles, though she doesn't let them get her down.
Oh, and like most of my vids, there are a few clips which contain lip flap, for various reasons. Just know that they are there on purpose, and are definitely not because of sloppy editing.
So, I hope you enjoy the vid, and please let me know what you think and/or if you have any questions about any segments.
Big thanks go out to Phantasmagoriat and, especially, Driftroot. Without her analysis, criticisms and suggestions, the vid wouldn't be nearly as good as it is.

Seeing this AMV evolve into what it is now was quite interesting, not to mention educational. There’s a lot that goes into making these things, and when you are familiar with what an editor has been doing behind the scenes (literally and figuratively) over the course of several months, it definitely puts their video in a whole new perspective.
Since by this time you are quite familiar with my comments on this AMV, Wes, I’ll just say again that you did a nice job of pulling this video up by its bootstraps. I still have fun watching it, which is quite a feat considering I've watched various versions of it at least 20 times by now. I’m looking forward to where you go from here.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. It appears that you two will be the only two to post on the vid, but I've gotten a couple of nice QCs, and the ratings have unexpectedly bounced back up the last couple of days, so overall I'm happy with how the vid has been received.
I've decided to go ahead and pull out one of my "A-list" ideas for my next vid. I'll contact you when I get a beta together. It was really nice working with you.
