Re: Gidra - Rumble in the New York
editing and concept was so ordinary and uncreative that it isn't even worth mentioning so I'll cut right to the part where it should matter I guess.
effects were plain and bored me endlessly.
for once, the in-scene effects like the glows etc wereincredibly messy and misplaced.
the newspaper thing could have probably made a difference but the design was so blocky that it didn't even work as a transition between scenes.
on top of that, the motion. all's been said on that matter already.
only plus is the footage
4/10
sorry mate.

it's the same fucking basic concept of following lyrics/words that're being written out, don't make it 'a new idea' just because it's now english instead of russian or because it's on a newspaper instead of on a monitor screen. stop lying to yourselves, he didn't invent shit here. i never said the two videos are supposed to have the same atmosphere or be in the same category. why the fuck am i even arguing against fanboys, it's like trying to explain that a Koop video has flaws.Odissey wrote:Ingow

changing the good old comic/manga effect to a newspaper also doesn't really make a difference.

Re: Gidra - Rumble in the New York
damn you're hard to troll, you just won't get angry. but you know that wasn't my point, even when there's 'copied' or overused effects, as long as the focus of the video is somewhere else those can be quite tolerable.Gidrasan wrote:omg... /edit:
As to clear any misunderstandings, I still think that the content of a video is more important than effects. And on that basis your effects being the main focus PLUS being kinda overused or at least being used in a very similar way in a very popular video before, that's what formed my opinion on it.

Re: Gidra - Rumble in the New York
i've been kind of suprised by the similarities between these russian con vids, they all have a lot of fidgety camera over 2d layers, a bit of typo and a smattering of 12fps action. it seems more like the prevailing style than intentional ripping off of effects.
btw, we all hate koop videos. the fake love is a pretense to confuse the american community.

i didn't understand a single word of thatGaurry_no_blond wrote:Ingow, omgIngow wrote:changing the good old comic/manga effect to a newspaper also doesn't really make a difference.Wake up! When you last time looked technical clips, instead of org-style trash? In 2006? ))
what's your point?
the effect was already done in like 2001 by americans, all the rest were always just variations

Re: Gidra - Rumble in the New York
I did feel the camera work on this was pretty erratic, but I'm inclined to like this video over the top two Akross videos simply because it more semblance of a cohesive concept. I wish there was better transitioning from paper to paper too.. maybe with actual dates like a timeline or something.

Not sure who you're talking to, but I've never said my videos were perfect (far from it). No video is. It's all about preference. So basically, calm down. Have a banana.Ingow wrote:why the fuck am i even arguing against fanboys, it's like trying to explain that a Koop video has flaws.
