My beta is a Saint Tail amv. I have some issues with it and would like some peoples opinion on it.
0:08 to 0:10 - Do you think it's weird that the double images do not move anymore and it starts just appearing by black/white flash.
0:11 to 0:13 - Do you think the transition from double image to one is executed correctly?
0:24 - After the girl turning her head scene, an addition background beat starts. Should I put in some effects in to go with that beat?
0:38 - Here we got some white flashy scenes to try to go with the music. Does it work?
Overall what is your opinion so far about my video. Please point out everything that could be improved. I want this vid to flow with the music.
When I write opinions I write HONEST ones. If you beta my vid and I think your video sucks I will not sugar coat it. I will try my best to point out what you could have done better so you can be a better amv creator in the future.

Re: WIP: 5 beta opinions in exchange for 5 opinions!
I'm a total newbie, so take my words with the grain of salt they may be worth. lol. But I will be honest, and I hope that at least counts for something.
I never thought about watching St. Tail, but maybe I will now.
Right around 19 seconds, where the spot lights are, something minor is up with the sync, the lights don't seem to match the beat. But it's really minor, and I can't quite point it out. I really like the scene where the girl grabs the guy, they twirl and he transforms? It really goes with the music. I don't like the twirling skirt after the cute animal pops out of the hat, it's almost like it doesn't go there...but it does work at the same time.
Anyway, I wish I were more help. I think it's on its way to being an awesome vid!!! Good job!
I have a WIP that I'm working on and would love some input on, or you can do an OP. Whichever you want, or both. lol.
My WIP:
Anime: D.Grayman
Category: Action, Serious
Song: OneX
Artist: Three Days Grace
Link: WIP vid
Notes: Not sure if it's my comp, but if the music quality is scary, ignore that. The video doesn't sound like that on my comp, it must have something to do with the transcoding that happened. It's viewable in Full Screen. I see a few scenes that flow funky already, and I'm going to look at see if I can chance my crops. I cropped out the black bars and subtitles, but that lowered my video quality.
OR an OP:
I hope that I was at least a little helpful
Please let me know when it's finished, I am looking forward to watching it!
I didn't like that. The first time I watched it, I didn't like the double images at all. The next few times around, I understood the musicality of it more, but didn't like or thought it was excessive from after the scene with the police cars.Sonydjsnmix wrote:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0UP8WFJS

Worked fine for me.Sonydjsnmix wrote:0:11 to 0:13 - Do you think the transition from double image to one is executed correctly?
I don't think you need any extra effects there IMHO. Sync is pretty good, and flows well. Sometimes when we get too much into musicality, and try to highlight everything happening, we can lose focus on what we are trying to highlight. Think of it like a huge dance performance: would that part of the song be better served spliting the troupe in half, half following the melody of the song, and half following the drums, or would the point be stronger with the whole troupe following the melody? IMO, because that is the opening of your song's strong point, don't get carried away, and follow the melody. Maybe later on, you could fit in the effects you were thinking about, but because it's the opening, a strong entrance would be best.Sonydjsnmix wrote:0:24 - After the girl turning her head scene, an addition background beat starts. It goes with the music, do I like it? Not really sure. It's almost too fast for my eyes to take in, and for some reason reminds me of a dance club. It could stay, it could go. I don't think it's a make or break part of the AMV.Sonydjsnmix wrote:0:38 - Here we got some white flashy scenes to try to go with the music. Does it work?
So far really enjoyable...what anime is this again? Maybe I want to watch itSonydjsnmix wrote:Overall what is your opinion so far about my video. Please point out everything that could be improved. I want this vid to flow with the music.

Absolute truth is objective, but in reality truth can only be viewed as subjective through our own personal perspectives.

Your questions:
1) If you didn't tell, I wouldn't even notice. It was good. The only thing I noticed was that the girl with the hair looked weird being there twice in the same pose (0:10), you could turn/inverse one of them.
2) There appears some drama (crumbled paper, etc) in that moment, which hides/performs the transition real well, no prob here.
3) Not at all. This was one of the best parts of the vid.
4) This was pretty fast, but that's probably the reason. I went through it by frames, and there wasn't anything that would need pointing out be getting the light away.
My personal notes:
00:27 - somewhat out of action sync, probably because the previous scene was too long.
00:29 - the same thing at the same music point, this time less detectable, though.
00:33 - there are few frames left that probably shouldn't be there in the cut.
00:36 - 00:38 - Don't know about the idea, but I couldn't for quite long time find out what are the pictures behind. Not quite sure if the opaque picture in the foreground works that well (especially since it's not very clear as well, due to the fast paced changes in the BG)
My fav parts - 00:24 - 00:26 and 00:30 - 00:35
Least fav part - 00:36 - 00:38
Good work, I approve! (b^^)b
