Well I was hoping to wait until I could upload this locally but it doesn't look like the upload server is going to be fixed any time soon. So I put it up as a direct download and will go ahead and announce it now.
This video is a first for me on a number of levels: my first purely instrumental video, my first video that's not strictly drama/action, and my first video using an original song mix--of an awesome choral/organ piece by a production music group called Extreme Music.
This is kind of a "what if" video, where I used familiar clips from FFX to tell a completely different story than the actual game. I got the basic idea for this video when listening to this song and it hit me that the organ music would go great with the scene from from FFX-2 where Shuyin plays the organ, and I thought of creating an AMV structured as a kind of organ concert.
As the video developed, I got the idea to reverse the realities of the game's storyline, where instead of Yuna singing about the deaths of Shuyin and Lenne, Shuyin is playing the organ while having visions of the events that actually happened to him happening to Tidus and Yuna instead. The scene where Shuyin activates the Colossus Vegnagun and Yuna's Nightmare form the centerpiece of the video, interspersed with other scenes from FFX and X-2, which complete Shuyin's vision of Yuna and Tidus. Yuna's Nightmare thus becomes the new reality of the video, and the actual events of game are the dream.
My goal with this video was to create a truly original Final Fantasy X video that would stand out from the crowd of so many AMV's to that title. I guarantee you it certainly has the most unique ending.
