It's not just you. I've noticed it since 2007 as well.Pwolf wrote:is Death Note becoming the new source to use with parodies? I don't get it![]()

coming from a guy (see what i did there) who makes dumb threads all the time, thats not saying much...guy07 wrote:It's always to make fun of an anime that takes it's self too serious. BTW: This is a dumb idea for a thread : /

Just an observation. I've never seen Death Note so i'm just wondering why everyone wants to use it for parody/comedy all the time. Is it because one person did it and won awards and now everyone is jumping on the band wagon? Or is there some other reason Death Note is the source of choice recently?

I think it's a combination of things. It's both popular and the videos win awards. In their defense, some are good like Rinny's at Otakon. It's that way with all popular sources (i.e. Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Haruhi, Ouran, and even Makoto Shinkai stuff).Pwolf wrote:coming from a guy (see what i did there) who makes dumb threads all the time, thats not saying much...guy07 wrote:It's always to make fun of an anime that takes it's self too serious. At the same time, having seen some of Death Note (OK not really, I just have it on in the background when DOTA'ing) I'm a little surprised since the show has very little motion or actual animation. It's very...still. Sure it looks pretty, but not much actually happens frame-to-frame that I'd call it 'good for AMVs.' *shrug*
