  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Yes, you're right about that pacing stuff. It was a sacrifice I had to make in order to match the scenes with the words. I didn't know what else to do. Some necessary scenes to fit the moment just weren't compatible/I couldn't think of a compatible way to fit them on the rollercoaster ride Wink
Ahhh, and there in lies the key between a mediocre video and a very good video.

Now I'm not sure how old you are, but if you've ever written an essay in highschool, what's the first thing your english teacher tells you? Know your audience. In editing, it's the same thing, know your audience.

What does that have to do with pacing you say? Well, pretty much everything. You need the pacing to keep your audience....if you don't have the pacing, your audience will get distracted and not pay attention to your video. You want them focused on your video.

Think of it as a marriage between music and video.....the two become one essence. When you sacrifice the pacing and derail the rollercoaster, you end up with just a song and some clips. Even if the story is still being followed, you lose the connection not only in your video, but with the audience.

:) That's a very good way to make that point. I was never sure how to say that to people. Thanks. Guess the tables were reversed in this scenario. I was just testing myself with this AMV. Now I see that I'm capable of doing something even better. Guess I'll struggle a bit more with my next one. Btw, I'm 17.

Just curious, what's with the icon? It looks like some mummy or something. What is it?

It's a screenshot from one of my videos, Little Conqueror based on 2nd and 3rd century China. The shot is of the Emperors Seal found by Sun Jian. Legend has it he passed it on to his son Sun Ce who later traded it for 5000 troops. Boring history stuff :P

I haven't uploaded it here, but it's on my site under Lulu.

Alright, cool.

Last thing, what did you think of the Trunks vs. Cell scene in my AMV. I thought it was maybe a little bit iffy but cool. The reason I ask is cause this one guy didn't like it and I found that confusing.

Where Cell kills trunks? I thought that scene fit well as it showed that Vegeta actually does care for trunks.

I mean the scene where Trunks fights Cell and keeps missing and then gets beaten.

UPDATE: Posted an 1080p HD link for this if anybody wants it. It's definitely clearer and it's obvious just from looking at "Typhoon859" in the beginning when the lightning strikes.

I don´t really get why you´re uploading an HD version. I don´t know if there are upscaled official versions of the DBZ movies, but I doubt that they made an HD version of the whole series.
It's definitely clearer
Eh... I guess this is something relative. You might want to check if you can improve the encoding for your low definition videos.
Check out this nice link:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... 64gui.html
and maybe the avtech 3 beta guide in general, you might improve your visual quality with Avi Synth -script cleaning.

Ok I didn´t checked out your video, but I do it now. I posted the stuff in advice, because you´re new here and there is a high chance that this links and advices will help :)

alright. let´s download! I want to see a good, new DBZ amv in my life before I die =/

This comment makes me nervous. So what did you think?

On a side note, my lower resolution version isn't that much worse quality but the 1920 by 1080 resolution encode is clearly just higher quality. Though not released in HD, the Dragon Ball Z Series has been captured in widescreen HD by FUNimation and released on DVD (the Remastered Boxsets, released by season) Upscaling the resolution back to HD does actually improve the quality; the clarity of these non-hd releases might as well be called HD. There's no point to it necessarily but for things done in the program itself like the "Typhoon859" that comes down with the lightning, the quality difference is really noticeable there.
