Part of being an editor is just knowing when something isn't working out and you need to stop.

things like that happen ?
just take more time to finish it, learn new things, go through tutorials ask ppl wich have done something similar, google... there are lotsa things to do. Some Ideas just take longer to realize than others.
if seconds, I don't think you should give up because you don't know yet how its working. Time and work surely can pull it off (was this correct english ?).
