Pointless and boring intro and outro.
You showed some technical know how in effects, some were cool, others got old. Good timing. Good grain effects, though some of the outlines of characters made it seem like you downloaded footage or didn't compress the dvd right. If it was an added effect, I didn't see it.
Looks like this was a lot of effort so you get a good rating for effort.
A lot of good parts. Some boring parts. Kept up with the mood.
Overall, good action and timing but just didn't move me much.

Nice effects work.
Really conveyed the style & attitude of the song. It was good to see untouched scenes mixed in as well. Reminded me of White Zombie for some reason. Editing was pretty fluid and nothing stood out as critically jarring or anything .... well, except maybe those swirly gifs during the second interlude - they kind of seemed out of place and didn't meld graphically with the rest of the video.

This video came about because Mike wanted to try some motion camera stuff and I suggested "Scum Of The Earth" by Rob Zombie, and he somehow accidently ended up with "I Am The Scum" by Scum Of The Earth. Go figure?
I'll definately get this since I liked his mini-motion beta thing so I wanna see what you've done.

Thanks.Neverend wrote:i would say i liked this!
Allot of it atleast loved the overlays.
Lol, thanks.. And yeah, the song grew old very fast as well.simofc90 wrote:I like the effects and editing on this one but I hate the song
Yeah, I thought it was dull.. But no other effect came to me and I was deadline was around the corner. So I threw that in there with added effects in the background/foreground in order to attempt to entertain the viewers enough to where they'd forget that it's just a simple camera motion verse with random clips.Falconone wrote:Hey cool. i am not the fan of the 3d pics which flys fast around, but the video has good moments and a nice style.
so good job 4/5

Gawd, double posting.. But two posts slip by unnoticed before mine

Yeah, I'm not familiar with Scum of the Earth. I did wikipedia them once, I think they came together when Rob was busy film making. Or, that's what came to mind.. And thanks.rubyeye wrote:Nice effects work.Really conveyed the style & attitude of the song. It was good to see untouched scenes mixed in as well. Reminded me of White Zombie for some reason. Ah, so you suggested it to him. As for the camera motion, I may have went, sorta, in a different direction.. I tried going for a more organic bodily movement, rather than a static transition to the side with random clips held at different heights. I preferred his style, which his why I still have his beta, but what I did was just easier to do, and with time not on my side, I went with it.Prodigi wrote:This video came about because Mike wanted to try some motion camera stuff and I suggested "Scum Of The Earth" by Rob Zombie, and he somehow accidently ended up with "I Am The Scum" by Scum Of The Earth. Blood, splatters and gore. Rawr! ... Oh well I'm not buying that product anymore. And I wish I wouldn't have to get labeled as a hippie by saying that!
Oh well, it was technically nicely executed. The effect work was cool but I didn't notice much of anything new there. It filled up the boots of an ultra effectsy stereotype with the flying screens and shaky textures.
It worked mood-wise though. This was violence in a nutshell, or rather its physical appearance. I'm still looking for an Elfen Lied video that paid its focus on the mental aspects of it. Anyhow, I'm not so interested in internal organs or blood vessels to keep this video and watch it repeatedly. It's just that the effects were fascinating as always.
3½/5
