Origins: Spirits of the Past

It looks horrible... Now I was planning on doing all the filtering after AMV is completed, but is it going to make a difference in the filtering and outcome?

It looks to me like a codec issue, what codec are you using?

Sorry for the double post, but what exactly are you trying to do? Just clean up the footage or stylize it, too?

For right now, just clean it up.

Well, if you already know what you need/want to do, do it before you edit. It's best that you edit with the best quality footage possible.

This is before I'm editing... I always filter BEFORE I edit with the footage...
Btw, this is a DVD... >_>

So, these are the .VOBs then? If so, are you sure it isn't a pirated disc? If so, then maybe try a different ripping method. What are you using to rip the discs?

I suppose, yes they are. I loaded the vobs into DGIndex, made it a .d2v file and made an avs script. And I'm using DVD Decrypter to rip them.
When I preview the movie in DGIndex, it looks like perfect quality, but when I put it in VDubMod... Yikes

That's a lot more steps then I used to do when I was still on Windows. I'd just take the .VOBs directly to VirtualDubMod and export them from there into the .AVI codec of your liking.

Also, if you want to try something completely new (if that doesn't work), give Handbrake a try for ripping your disc. The program will go straight from disc to .mp4, .avi, .ogm, or .mkv. Only thing is that the codec options are more limited than in VDM, but the ease of use is very high.
