Loveless - Hear Me Out
Video:Loveless - Hear Me out
Category: Romantic
Anime: Loveless
Song: Hear Me Out
Artist: Frou Frou
Creator: Astrate-Bonarte
Just something I made a few days ago, the video quality is kind of bad seeing as I had to get the clips from episodes on a certain site. (I have yet to find a torrent reader for macs) And I had to use letterboxing to cover up the subtitles, so maaaah.
Anyway I probably won't make another video till I get a torrent reader and possibly a program better than imovie.
Edit: I know that the song is listen wrong on the download place, I already made a request to change that information.

why not just use the DVDs? they are pretty cheap O.O
also in the video entry you put "holding out for a hero" instead of "hear me out" you should get that fixed, (if you need to put in a request to change the locked information then do so)
Unfortunately, you did a combination that already has a rather good video to it, so people will more than likely compare...
and the resolution is TINY O.o youtube is a terrible place to get your video source... The DVDs for Loveless are extremely cheap, I'm sure that they wouldn't break the bank for you.

They're cheap, but they have protection on the clips, I borrowed my friends to do it and it wouldn't work, the clips were some unredable format that I couldn't change.
Like I said I'm looking for a torrent reader, my dad is going to help me find one this weekend.
and oh I must have clicked the wrong one, I'll go fix that, thank you. And um I had no idea it had already been done, without compareing do you have anything to say about the video itself? not just the resolution?

I know the DVDs can work, I've used them for both of my Loveless videos, and yes theres protection on them, thats why you use a DVD ripper to get around the protection. :/ then convert the vobs into a format that works best with your video program.
If you are on a Mac I hear that there are ripping guides to help you out with that. (Considering you said you are using iMovie I assume you are on a Mac). Here is the entire guide for your convenience.
:/
As for the editing, it studdered, a lot. The cutting was inconsistent to the song, and I could tell what you were trying to do but the timing always seemed to be off almost every time (like the video in your editing program was lagging a whole lot - probably due to what format the video was in perhaps? or not enough previewing or final tweaking). The scene choice was okay, but I don't think it really felt true to the song. Crossfades would have been nice.

-shrug- I think it'll be easier to get a torrent reader, I'm kinda poor.
And alright thank you for the advice, imovie kept randomly putting sound clips into it whenever I tried to cross dissolve, so that probably explains why it would lag. Anyway thanks, it's hard to get constructive criticism.
I need to get myself a new program xD

the problem i have with your torrent statement is how CHEAP Loveless is, especially if you find it used, or on sale then its even cheaper O.o... so I have a hard time agreeing with your methods...
not to mention torrents tend to be iffy, you never know what the quality is going to be until you finish the dl and actually see it, however in general most DVDs are already in excellent quality... (and I know the Loveless ones are good from experience).

okay the actual big deal (quality control aside) is the fact you should want to support the industry that you are essentially leeching off of :/ because its the right thing to do.
Perhaps I have issues with it because I go out and buy my sources, and I think it's demeaning when people go out and pirate theirs.
and if $20 is so much money to you, then get a job, mow a lawn, babysit... there's plenty of ways to make the money for the things you want... if you don't want to do that then you don't want it enough... Kids these days just want everything handed to them on a platter :/

Because the forum rules say so...Astrate-Bonarte wrote: -sigh- it may be cheap for most but 15-20 bucks is actully a lot for me at this point. If I don't get any good quality stuff from torrents then I'll try dvds, honestly I don't get what the big deal is.
This site tries to support the DVD and music industry by encouraging people to BUY their anime and cds :\2. Thou shalt not use downloaded video footage to make AMVs
And really if $20 is an issue you could always hire the damn thing at a video store for less than buying it.
What Jaddzia is also getting at is the quality of the final video.
Usually when you dload footage in any format other than iso/vobs the video has been compressed and looses quality. Once you finish editing you then compress it again (into a wmv/xvid/mp4/mov etc) so it can look really crappy, esp if you dont know how to use avs (and even then there is a limit to what can be fixed on a POS source).
Dont believe me? take a still frame from your video and find a similar scene in one of Jaddzia's loveless vids, the difference in visual quality is noticeable... now imaging that you're on a forum full of geeks who've spent disgusting amounts of money getting large e-penis monitors *eye's off mitchtex's rig* or just have their 42" TV's hooked up to the computer.
When these geeks watch the vids they will automatically tell the difference between crappy recycled footage with poor encoding/cleaning and some other vid with the same source that's coming through brigh and clear.
It makes the viewer happier, the con audience happier and means you produce an overall better product which you put effort into the presentation and the viewer can tell.
Anyway since I seem to lack social graces, this is me making her point in a more direct manner which hopefully makes sense for you, no flames or insults intended (except to those people with monitor e-penis').

*edit* goddammit katie you type too fast

new banzors in the making :p
