I liked it overall. Though I would've liked to have seen it without the original music video. Jihaku did it better in that respect. Also, I didn't care for the ending shot (from Now and Then, Here and There). Just didn't seem to fit. But other than those things I thought it was well done.

I'll get <3
Edit:

I totally dug this amv.

I thought the song fit the source scenes well.

Good job man

One of my favorite videos of the year.

I liked pretty much everything you did, and I loved the intergration of the music video. Really spoke to me a lot.

Also, despite what others have said here, I really did like the rain filter. It wouldn't have the same impact without it. :O

I don't think it has to do anything with the editing or amv itself.
It has something to do with my perception of this video.

I had a similar idea to integrate the LAMV for this song floating in the back of my mind as well (Meet the Robinsons, ftw!). I'll check it out...

[edit]
Super cute! I still had a few gripes with it overall though...
-The poor quality Rob Thomas footage made me sadddd.
-Felt a little confused by the flow. Sometimes it felt dragged and really slow, but the choruses were full of beat sync and sped up a lot. It's good you were pacing with the music, but a lot of the flow transitions were a bit jarring.
-I agree that the ending scene was a bit unfitting as well.
All in all, not what I would have done with the MV footage, but still really cute nonetheless. :)

I think it would have been better if you picked a single anime or theme and stuck to that rather than jumping around at random. (Like say if you focused on all the kids in various anime, I think that would have worked a lot better, or just stuck to Air or something.) While the movement was fairly fluid I kinda feel that the song lost the emotional impact it could have if you actually focused more on one thing rather than just using a lot of pretty scenes.

I liked some of the effects you chose, and the masking in Rob Thomas had a bit of a jihaku feel to it, but yet not as good as jihaku. Rob Thomas kinda looks odd when he's singing... he's much better at booty dancing >.>;

Some of those series had a lot to offer this song, and those scenes seemed to be cut for other random openings that have been used lots of times.

Also I didn't really like the flashing on the drum-beats with the masks O.o those kinda looked out of place to me...

The "rain" effect (as mentioned in the thread earlier) didn't quite work for me, because in several of the scenes the characters looked completely dry instead of soaked as they should have been with as much "rain". In other scenes such as the ones with umbrellas it worked... I don't think it needed to be added to that FMA opening though.

O.o Anyways good movement/transitions, and good for including the original video, but it could still use some work on focus.

OH! and at the end when you showed the two kids on the beach... that would have been a perfect time to use the scene from the end of Air with the two kids on the beach, instead of that guy who had the person next to him disappear (now and then here and there?). I love live action/anime mirroring (I guess thats the word I'm looking for)

Perhaps I'm biased though...
