My final tribute to the excellent Fist of Fury TV series starring Donnie Yen. This is sort of a sequel to my other Fist of Fury video "Fist of Kenichi's Fury". That was a short fun parody. This is short too but considerable effort was spent on it. It was a project on a personal level and I took it a lot more seriously. Finally found the motivation to seriously work on a vid after the last 2 lacklustre efforts. It was also the toughest AMV I had to make because of what i was hoping to achieve v.s the restrictions i had to face. It was a case of trying to make the impossible possible which sort of goes with the theme of the TV series (read the vid info to find out more).

And oh yeah, Donnie Yen really sang the theme song and there are subs this time.

I really this I'm crazy to make this video. Really need to know what normal people thought of this (especially how you would have made this video-assuming you were forced to make it). Comments or opinions are greatly appreciated. I'm open to opinion exchange with anyone.

Hey, where's all your useful feedback people?

An un-obvious anime... and a pretty funny combination we have here. I actually thought this captured the "cheesy asian martial arts movie" feel right on, although much of the editing was just that - cheesy. Fortunately it worked really well in the case of the sound effect sync, which, a few scenes aside here and there - I thought you actually did well with.

On the technical front, the biggest issue is obviously the interlacing. I would've tried to get rid of that at the lease, even if the rest we can write off to intentional movie-referencing.

Ultimately, I don't think this video could've been anything else but a spoof with intentionally-campy editing. Not that it's a bad thing, just that beyond people looking for something like that to amuse themselves, it won't gather accolades in either popularity or original concepts.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Thanks for the feedback. If not you, I'd never have guessed anyone would think that way because I started out with the intention of making a serious tribute. I guess much of the cheesiness came about due to the cheesy lyrics (bad translation perhaps?) and undercranking (although under editing terms its just speeding up) which is a tribute to the FOF series. There are some movie referencing for sure. Like how the hero always got this intense look when he fights (almost to the pt of looking constipated) and how he beats up the bad guys without moving much (so he looks cool). A lot of posing and yelling. Yeah thats old school Asian kungfu films for you.

Interlacing only happens in between the cuts and not anywhere else, i don't know why.Maybe some research for another time.

thanks again for taking time to download and review.

I gotta agree with oto here. For me, I lol'd. Please don't hate me for saying this, but I only noticed it wasn't listed as a comedy afterwards. I guess this is because I laugh at all bad kung-fu movies [the sound effects are spot-on!]... I've even made a mock live-action music video with martial-arts footage. It was done well enough, to the point that it becomes a novelty [for me at anyways]

I'm alive and well yes. Away but never truly gone. Now that I'm working and all, I no longer have time for '100+hr editing epics', but in the last 2 years, i found time for some small projects.

The only thing that I have to say is: I liked it much more, but yeah this isn´t my taste (wich isn´t the point of the vid) and somehow I forgot to post this small comment.

Oto brings up good points.

I thought that was pretty funny man, the delay of sound effects was pretty spiff ^-^ just like those kung-fu movies my dad made me sit through when he grounded me =_=. but the rest is what oto said because I'm lazy now v_v

Delayed sound effects? Can you explain? I thought i pretty much made sure the action sequences were in sync with the audio.
