I vote twice because I have two hands.

I'd vote once and not for myself unless I thought my video was hands-down the best. The way I see it, not voting for the best video is at odds with the purpose of the competition - whether your intention is to deliberately slight that video or avoid voting for your own, either way you're not voting the way you're supposed to.

This does raise the issue of how well AMV contests walk the straight and narrow, though. It's a good thing we're not all politicians - otherwise we'd be up in arms, demanding recounts and accusing everyone else of cheating. Of course, to make such accusations, there have to be rules to break, and since the rules are obviously so hazy as to make voting multiple times not only possible but not explicitly prohibited...

...we end up with threads like this one.

I would, if I actually had the patience to sit through more than one showing. :uhoh:

I vote for the underdog entry.

I bet George W Bush voted for himself and he wasn't even the most qualified !!

I see what you did there...comparing me to George Bush eh? T_T

But yeah in all honestly, I have done it and I won't hide that. It's surely the minority, but there have been a handful where I felt I had the strongest entry hands down and to be a bit arrogant (and justification :P), I did win those so clearly others agreed :P.

Not knocking you. I just can't pass up an opportunity to crack GWB jokes. BTW I've voted for myself in leadership elections before. I figure if I wasn't the best man for the job why did I even run =p

I can top that arrogance.

While I didn't vote for myself in the category I was in, I voted for myself in the Best of Show, only to not win it. :P

I think there's a lesson to be learned here.

My policy is to vote for myself or just abstain from voting. I'm not going to fuck myself over in a contest. I have voted for myself when I knew I wasn't going to win, but that was so that I'd actually have a vote when everything was tallied. (In fact I beta'd the winning video before hand and congratulated the editor before the contest)

I've only entered into one con so far and completely forgot to turn in my ballots during either showing
