  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Evangelion Music Project v1.01

Video: EMP v.1.01
Category: Action, Drama, Sentimental, Serious, Other, etc
Anime: Evangelion 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone
Music: L'amour séparé
Composer: Katsuhisa Hattori
Creator: Arcwave

This specific piece of music I used has always been on my iPod, and I've always cherished it for its evocative melody and instrument choice. I sat down the other day and watched the new Evangelion film thinking how well this song could play into it; so I decided to assemble this AMV. I thought it turned out rather well and compelling. Please share your thoughts!

The software I used to edit was Avid Xpress Pro and Adobe After Effects (for minor VFX).

Cheers! 8-)

The apocalypse was foretold in a thread several weeks ago! When the Rebuild dvd hits the streets, there will cometh the flood of the new age of Evangelion videos! Now, Armageddon has begun, and this may be the first meteor to strike the earth!

Ohh, hehehe, sorry bout that. DLing now.

Edit: Seems I was too late, several AMVs have already sneaked into the database without my knowledge, as they used a different Anime name.

Edit2: Watched. Short and sweet, I loved it. Professional presentation, clean quality, and good flow. I don't care to dissect the video; if anyone else would like to comment on scene placement blah blah be my guest.

:o I didn't even know the new evangelion had premired yet, let alone been released on DVD. I was going to comment on how unbelieveably clean the footage looked for a raw, but ~meh~ it was still incredibly squeaky clean.

Anyway, I only had two problems with it, 1. it would've been great if you could have subbed it when they were talking, and 2. the borders were freaking huge. You probably could've at least cropped it a little bit.

Thanks for your replies! I'm thrilled that you guys enjoyed it. About the subtitles thing... the reason why I have the borders so large was to cover the original fan subs. My goal was to make this as clean as possible, and subtitles would eliminate that aspect IMO. Plus, most people can probably figure out the conversation at that scene.

So yeah, thanks for the kind thoughts :o

in that case, let me bring back the comment about how good the quality was. Even so, it'd be nice if you could have subbed over your border. I haven't seen NGE enough to recall what they were talking about there.

Since the scene is nearly identical to that of the original series, it might be possible to insert the english dub over it. The lip flaps would be off if the timings are different this time around though.

Misato is just introducing herself to Shinji. I figured any anime fan has seen it? 8-)
