Second vid:
Since I have not seen (and will not see) a single episode of Naruto, let alone understand what was the background of events used as footage, what the characters are, and so on, I don't get the seriousness of it. And those lipsynch scenes were just so random, done by random people, made me lol. Not sure if it was due to artistic talent or fail. :p
^^
Those lipsyncs were there for a couple of reasons - 1) I was starting to get nervous about what I was doing (the cultural sensitivity, put it that way), plus I didn't really know what to put at that point. When in doubt, do silly things - a lot of my AMVs are comedies anyway. So it made it more obviously a parody. But the lines can be interpreted to be consistent with the characters who say the lines.

This one I liked more. Linkin Park didn't really suit the vid but, hey, it's the fact that you forced it to go with it that counts. Instrument synch was very good at times - but most of time non-existent... but that's not the editors fault. The music doesn't have much to synch to.
That's so true, and I was thinking all of that myself. (yeah, I know Linkin Park didn't suit the vid! That was why it was fun ^^) I did actually try to synch the drums- but it's basically compiling the footage in a certain order. Plus I don't think there was ever a point where there was only that tin hat thing being played, and I wanted it as realistic as possible, so it limited the footage. And when I was trying to sync/select footage for the drums, I was thinking "what the heck is that sound?" ('cause I don't play drums)
Actually, you're right about the base - except at the beginning, it wasn't synched as much (in the middle section I only synched the bit where she moves her arm up, and at the end it wasn't synched but the music was such a mess anyway ^^).

Lipsynch... well, seeing Haruhi lipsynched was kinda boring, considering all the hours I used lipsynching the very same footage. But Kyon and Itsuki made me smile. Lipsynch accuracy was decent but not always on the spot. Since this video was made quickly (I presume), I think it's at least up to or better than what I expected of a quick(?) edit.
Well, unfortunately my program's editing screen is smaller than the final copy, so unless I export it and fix it up later (which I didn't), then I guess you could say it was a quick edit (but took almost a day, solidly, I think). So sometimes I've made it synch in the program. Plus my program was doing funny things (like deleting my effects?

It's demotivating when that happens and I have to re-do it :\ )

Effects... well, "zooming", was exagerated, probably parodizing the minimalistic effects of my video... (since I used some zooming, panning and tilting for effects and nothing more.) I also sense parodic attitude towards cheaply animated anime... you probably know many series where mouths are hidden behind an object, outside of screen, facing the other way, etc. whenever people have a conversation.
Um, I didn't mean it as a parody ^^; But I had intended to not use the same scene, and I was running out of footage, so I used zooms just to make it a bit different.
XDDDDD Yes - I didn't feel up to masking - especially if my program likes to randomly break. Plus, yes, it was a quick AMV. (plus when Haruhi has her eyes closed... the other reason I zoomed was because the hair wouldn't have been flowing because I reduced the speed so much. I don't think I'd know how to mask that. )
Thank you for your detailed comments!

Cheers!
