You sir/madam are a booger faced, big eared, poop head!

I'm sorry I just had to say that. But by that logic shouldn't you just go outside or do something else?

i just love anime its ecchi moments its hilliarous antics its way of not caring if u cant spell or have good grammer its comedy factor (cromartie high) i like the action, the storyline in most the way u get to really know the characters well basically most animes are just good shows ..plain and simple there good most of them anyways the animtaion style is great and it has no boundaries to what can happen
my life is as significnt as the spelling in this context but yet more and at times less what is my life really but a bliss of pain and hate but also love and happiness-me(did u like it and im not high)

Yea but when you wanna chill and watch some TV after hanging out. Nothing but garbage is on TV. So you turn to anime which is less horrible than anything on TV

I watch anime because ABC blows and the Simpsons and South Park got old.

I needed more sophistication in my life.

I watch anime mainly because I like the drawing style and because, on many occasions, it goes beyond where a live action movie can go. There are fights (and general action) in anime that you won't see on any live action movie - same goes for the humor, the way the characters express themselves and the plots. It certainly is something different, and to me, much more interesting than most of the other stuff you can watch out there.

Also, many times in the past I have gotten interested in watching an anime after watching an amv that used it and made it seem like something I'd want to watch.

Control over expressions instead of relying on actors, they could go to extremes with characters expressions, not as big budget needed to some of the crazy things you see, live action, high quality cg mechs vs just drawn ones. There are a lot of styles of how characters look instead a lot of the typical things you see in live actions. Nice to see impressive/unique animation/art. They formulate a lot of ideas you don't see presented in a lot of other forms of tv entertainment. I like art. I like the vast ideas they bring which seem to be a lot better than video games.

Some people don't like it.. the reasons why varies. In anime, they do go to insane extremes and are obsessed with really young girls, anime is known for not having much of an ending to many of their shows, I would say a lot of that is because it gives you a reason to purchase the manga since they go past the point where the anime finished. The have the forced perception in their head that anything animated is for kids.. they love to call anything that is animated a cartoon, yet they love family guy and south park(hypocrites?).

There have never been super human areal fighting in a live action. The Matrix tried to do it, but they didn't even come close to Dragon Ball. Live action has never done a fire ball better than the old school street fighter arcade games. They usually look cheep. They can be quite colorful. People who actually get into anime seem to end up thinking it can be very good at portraying emotional scenes/emotions.

There's a lot to be said instead of "I like it because I like it"

Thought I'd give you more of a "just because" reason. Hope this helps.

I used to read ALLOT but if you pick up a fiction novel of any kind these days it's the same old crap re-done and rebadged same with 99% of movies and tv shows (point in fact I only watch DVDs or play games on my TV, i dont actually watch TV (Insular shell much?)) In the anime space they still manage to challenge your imagination and acomplish things we can only dream of yet it doesn't look as unbelieveable as the Hong Kong movie wire work, because these aren't real people.
It also has the added benefit of removing complete fucktards from the genepool, like those who try to actually be Naruto. Not to mention ensuring that a certain subset of humanity never actually gets laid or breeds, which is also blessing for the rest of us.
All in all Anime contributes to survival of the fittest in the continued evolution of humanity on this planet and provides escapism for people not on the emo/narutard endangered species list. As well as a totally skewed version of reality where every one seems to be "special" :\

If anyone ever actually read the WIlliam Gibson novel "Neuromancer" or studied it you would know that he actually conceptualised the internet long before it became reality, anime itself could well have then next "idea".

other than that, I think "most" anime is for immature children with no grip on reality and need a serious kick up the ass by their parents :x
new banzors in the making :p

Interesting Autraya.

I'm taking down notes. Never thought or even heard of it being looked at that way.

Oh, AND by the way.. do I suck if I like Naruto?

AND by the way, it's close to surpassing Cowboy Bebop on the popularity list on this site. It's going to be like being relieved after taking a huge dump, and even better because that next dump I'm going to save it for a certain someone.
