I love the effects and presentation of the AMV - made it memorable amongst other AMG AMVs I've seen, the scenes themselves didn't feel very cohesive but its an upbeat AMV so who cares 4.5/5

What the fuck. How did I not notice this for three days?

My general impression throughout this video was that this was not a Kisanzi video. You usually do a very good job with your videos in making really unique, creative, and completely original effects, but I wasn't seeing that in here. Effects-wise this video didn't impress me like every other video I've seen by you has, and I'll admit it was kinda disappointing.

Also, the first half of the video had some really weird, difficult-to-follow beat sync, and this made it hard to really get into the video.

However, you did a really good job with the concept and progression of the video's story/concept - something I've been noticing that you do better and better with each successive video. The second half of the video was also just a joy to watch - I really liked the overlain screens and that cool spin/blur you did near the end.

Overall this is a pretty neat video, something that I'll definitely watch from time to time when I need something happy and uplifting (happy hardcore definitely needs more videos). This is a pretty nice, if completely uncharacteristic, video. Good job

4/5

Hmm I donno Matt..

I really didn't like it. I honestly thought it was repetitive.. It actually felt really cheap for some reason. I just don't think these xtc love video's work. Not to mention your compositions seemed very bland. I had expected allot more coming from you.

Granted I really don't like AMG and the music didn't spark any interest either.

So I was picking on Callum all last night <3 <3 with some help from Marky as you do when you're burly ;] and this video came up in conversation now he(callum) really does like it as mentioned above and I dont but he did raise an interesting point which i'll get to at the end of my comments;

What I didn't like was most of the vid, it uses the same eye candy scenes that most AMG vids do, the "story" was corney and weak... well it's a dance video I suppose I shouldn't expect much story, but it looks like you tried to incorporate one which I give you props for but it was.... ok let me tell you a story
There's a PS1 game called legend of Dragoon it's an RPG style game, for it's time it had fantastic cut scenes and decent game play, the story was interesting but the dialogue was written for 8 year olds. Making it almost painful to play.
And that is what iritates me about this video the "story" is painfully basic, maybe I'm reading more into this than realy exists, maybe there is no story per se but that's what i see.

There are segments where you are swapping scenes and it's not synced to... well anything at all.
About the blue... blue is my favourite colour but I really didn't like 90% of your effects, they were mismashed and awkard, it looked like luma key... and bad luma key or fuzzy masking if that's what it was. The clip movement got jerky as they flew off the screen and I just watched and thought "uughh what a mess, I've seen him do so much better"

So in summation Callums point was "that in high effects vids "liking/Disliking" it is very subjective." Which is true as I think back on many threads people either hate or lub effects vids. And for my part I think I set my expectations way too high after seeing bladebeat graffiti, i was thinking I'd get super tight sync and some new and innovative effects, but there just was no "wow factor" from this video for me.

I've delayed responding on this thread because I needed to figure out why I didn't like the video. And that's it in a convaluted nutshell for you.
No "sugar coating" just what I think is a 3/5.
new banzors in the making :p

sorry for going off-topic here but *slaps Danielle for dissing the scripting of Legend of Dragoon <_<* no that game was just too damn awesome and the scripting, characters and story was winwinwin.

all I have to say is my friend Sleyman summed up my opinion best with his own: "It's like an ironing board that someone has pressed gold leaf into and cut off one end- very ordinary, but it looks like someone tried to make it pretty and cut it short."

100% for effort, but your champloo one was just... better. Perhaps classic isn't the best mesh with your style of editting, but I'm no expert.

Hahaha, I totally remember Michael asking me to make an AMV to one of his songs, and I had to turn him down since none really fitted my taste or editing style. I suggested you after he asked what other editors could do it.
It's pretty funny now to see that you actually did it.

I really liked it. There's a whole bunch of cheesy effects in it, but that just really fits the song in this case. The only real complaint that I have is that you were lazy on rotoscoping and some strange kind of noise on the TV series footage which could've been easily filtered away.
So, great job, you pulled it off better than I would've done it
