Have to agree with you there, awesome series even if it strayed from the Manga at the end. All things said, I am still pleased to watch any Claymore amv that resonates solid effect - so good job!Full Metal Sempai wrote:Finally a hardcore Claymore fan.We must spread the love for it Vincent cause I don't see any people here who have actually watched (or read) Claymore.Except for Oli.C...OropherZero wrote:Yeah I was looking forward to this too, heck I look forward to all Claymore AMVs *gets*
Edit: Okay Very Happy Pretty good for a 4 episode AMV. I think even if people haven't seen Claymore before then the story is pretty clear - Teresa is the cold overpowered warrior, meets Clare, softens up, which then becomes her tragic downfall. I still think the AMV would appeal more to fans of the series like me though Wink I think you should have attempted to use other episodes of adult Clare, maybe of her reflecting on those events, it would have made the entire carrying of the head scenes easier to understand to people who have not watched the show. Umm the AMV itself, it seemed to heavily be based on external synch, I'm not a big fan of external synch - black flashes to rapid beats etc, just personal preference so I would have liked to have seen a bit more internal synch. Good use of motion and scene changes. Anyway 4/5 =D
edit2: actually scrape what I said about using other episodes, the AMV itself is fine as a Teresa tribute, just the short shot of Clare with glowing eyes, might not make sense to some people or who that actually was.

First off, I have to thank OropherZero for the little insight into the series. BEcause when I watched this the first time through, I was confused as hell.
The first minute was a tad too slow for my tastes, and then then it relied a tad too much on the beat syncs the rest of the time. But I still really enjoyed it. I like this kind of story, and I throuroghly enjoyed it.

It didn't actually. And this is exactly what I'm trying to get at: Regardless of me knowing or not knowing what the anime is about, I didn't know really what this vid was about (other than it had girls with swords). For me as a viewer and creator, I let the vid itself do the talking, and worry about the details later.Full Metal Sempai wrote:All in all,FIRST read the vid description and THEN watch the video. It HELPS,believe me.
Maybe this isn't what you want to hear, but that's my thoughts and perspective.

Interesting the two of us putting out Claymore vids right together. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on mine.
As for this one, I can see the connection with Theresa and the song title, but the song itself just wasn't that great.
As for scenes, I would've included the one where Theresa saves Claire as a child in there somewhere. I might also have built up some more suspense with the line "You can see the end coming", maybe have the other Claymores getting closer and closer each time it was repeated.

We all must understand to judge things according the given situation... this song is not the best suited which someone could use for a claymore - action amv, also this song its over 4 minutes long and without many rhythm changes, easily someone could classify it as "boring".
Even though FPS liked this idea, this combination and many ppl would definitely like this song^^ so the song selection would not affect my judgment.
To conclude my thesis, 5/5 from me FPS many things definitely could be better using more footage but using only Teresa's and little Clair's footage many off sync scenes were inevitable.

Thanks man.Yeah, the story is indeed a bit difficult to understand if you haven't seen Claymore. And concerning the song, that's really a pain in the ass.The first minute is slow as hell so I also edited in this way trying to show a bit from present and past.As for the rest, well I always relied a lot in the beat synch.^^CodeChrono wrote:First off, I have to thank OropherZero for the little insight into the series. 4.00/5.00 Thumbs up
I can't say I tried to show something specific.I used footage from 4 episodes and showed the same story in 4 minutes.A mini-tribute to Teresa, nothing more.omegaevolution wrote:I have to say I didn't get as a whole what you were trying to show. I didn't like the song, but the editing was good, the begining was kinda... dunno, but the rest was much better. Watching this reminds me that I should watch Claymore lol.
good job for the most part of it Thumbs up
3.5/5
Dammit,is the beginning really so bad?

I don't think I could make it look better unless I had another song.Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!
I get your point about the video doing all the talking but I disagree.Personally,I don't believe that someone must understand everything in a vid so as to judge it as good or bad.Sometimes it's beautiful not to understand what's been going on since it gives you motivation to check something new.And this has moved me on to watching anime I have never known so far(Sola,Kanon etc.).Confusion leads to discovery...serv0 wrote:Regardless of me knowing or not knowing what the anime is about, I didn't know really what this vid was about (other than it had girls with swords). My opinion is that understanding and liking are 2 different things so don't mix them up.Tell me you didn't like the editing, the song, the story or the style, that's fine with me.But not understanding the story => the vid is bad, that's another thing...
After all,not every story is capable of being manipulated so as to become understandable by all.If you don't understand it then go watch the anime. That's what I want to achieve through this amv after all...^^
The song sucks a lot but let's leave this conversation for another time.Hope you are satisfied with my comments on your amv.And thanks a lot for your recommendations but a finished vid is finished.WesW wrote:As for this one, I can see the connection with Theresa and the song title, but the song itself just wasn't that great.

Thanks for defending me man but everyone has his own views. The song is bad and not easy to edit with as it's quite a repetitive one.And since I decided to edit with limited footage,it's partially my fault.nikolakis wrote:We all must understand to judge things according the given situation... this song is not the best suited which someone could use for a claymore - action amv, also this song its over 4 minutes long and without many rhythm changes, easily someone could classify it as "boring".

But you can't expect someone to rate it based on these decisions of yours. They watch the result and they rate based on it.Still, thanks a lot.^^
ps:I'm not FPS(frames per second) but FMS pal...
