Unfortunately, there are basically 3 types of music listeners in the US, and I'm being very general: 1.) Those who follow MTV like their Bible; 2.) Those that listen to stuff that's totally unheard of/underground just so that they're unique; 3.) People who listen to what they like and aren't influenced. Again, unfortunately (for the most part) groups 1 and 2 claim that they are group 3.Declan_Vee wrote:On the Music front.
I really have no idea what the music scene is like in the US. However if it's anything the MTV Video Music Awards that I saw the other week (very delayed telecast) I pity you. I really hope for the sake of US music that there are alternatives.
I listen to a radio station that has a strong dedication to music, the arts, regional and foreign film and literature. As opposed to filling the wallets of their numerous corporate bed-fellows (it's govt funded so they can afford to be this way). Most all of the tracks they play are by artists that won't be found on the top 40 and those that are, deserve to be.

-ssj2gohan- i think that u are going nowhere with this discussion , This issue has been Discussed MANY MANY times in this forum and the majority of the people here have already made up their minds about that LP/dbz AMV combination.
my advice to you and the other people interested is to read the old threads about this particular problem. jeez even this threads are starting to become boring just like the videos

I agree with this wholeheartedly. There are several people on this site who are actual genuine group 3, but in real life I have yet to meet the first person...Rozard wrote: Unfortunately, there are basically 3 types of music listeners in the US, and I'm being very general: 1.) Yeah, I like to think that for the most part people belong to Group 3. I sort of has a little test that I made up:Paul Kievits wrote:I agree with this wholeheartedly. - If you ask someone so listen to a song, and they say no because they don't like the genre, artist, blah blah blah, they're generally Group 2.
- If you ask someone to listen to a song, and they say no because they've never heard of the artist before, they're generally Group 1.
- If you ask someone to listen to a song, and they do, regardless of their opinions, they're generally Group 3.
I fall into Group 3 because I'm always open to new music. For exapmle, I hate Limp Bizkit as a band, but I love "My Generation" by them (especially in Sammy's video) and I'll listen to their new stuff. I'm not necessarily going to like it, but I'm going to listen to it. It's stuff like that that seperates the groups. If you can set your opinions aside and listen to the music, the whole song, too and honestly critique it, then I'd put you in Group 3.
