I showed my mom (a non anime fan) some AMVs, so she could see what other (better) AMVs look like other than mine. Of those, Skittles and Another Crappy Video were her favorites. (Though she also liked Plunder Propoganda, Something Fishy, and I'm Available, Ladies;))

Anything from the org's top 10% category.
Hey, great is great, doesn't matter if the person has no personal connection with the anime, if the amv is well made that's what counts.
I think the AMV Hell stuff though is a good choice if you are planning to sit and laugh and eat munchies for a while. Most of the gags are essentially just good laughs.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

If it hooks them, it's time to enter the Witness Protection Programme.LivingFlame wrote:Well, it'd either hook them permanently or forever drive them away from all forms of animation.. o__OJudgeHolden wrote:I'd show them a Hentai video ... Tell them it's "art"
In other news, I tend to use Toushi for action fans, Sugardansen for dance fans, Ninja of the Night for comedians, and Insomnia for romantics.
Failing that I show them the only video which fits all four categories:

usually a song they like edited by a decent editor, AND i make sure it's not a stupidly drawn anime(as much as that is possible)like DBZ, because it looks dumb as all hell and non anime people are usually used to the disney style of drawing so ghibli and others seem to work well. Stuff like blood & vampire hunter D go down well amv wise
new banzors in the making :p
