Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

As far as action videos go, it was really well executed and simple. A "back to basics" video that I appriciate highly. The beat sync was well executed and well timed.

However, scene selection bothered me. The in-game cut scenes were used far and few inbetween in lieu of actual battle scenes from gameplay. I would have liked to have seen more cut scenes and more scenes other than just gameplay after gameplay.

But as a SSBB fan, I can say I definitly loved it.

Those "gameplay" scenes actually are cutscenes, in the sense that they are the cutscenes that play when you complete the Classic mode with each character. I agree the subspace emissary cutscenes were much nicer, but theres only so much stuff in there that you can actually sync to the music.

Oh, whew. Chrono scared me for a bit there, saying that was gameplay footage. I just can't imagine in-game graphics being that detailed.

Well, the ingame graphics ARE that detailed... its just a matter of which clips you are looking at when you consider this statement.

Everything from the beginning through about 0:37 are subspace emissary cut scenes, which are high quality cg footage. Starting at 0:37 when it shows 5 clips of mario, the first 4 clips are cutscenes of "actual gameplay footage", and then the 5th clip goes back to the high quality stuff. Then when it shows link next, theres the same pattern--4 gameplay, 1 HQ. You can tell the gameplay cutscenes from the others because they aren't antialiased.

But still, the gameplay cutscenes only make up maybe about 15% of the video.
