A little FF7 tribute

Post by mephie » Sat Apr 05, 2008 12:55 pm

After finishing Crisis Core and replaying FF7, I really wanted to make a FF7 related video and I just finished it up yesterday.

The thing I'm kinda disappointed in is that I know my video lacks decent quality, really apparent through the the AC footage. It came out really bad because VitualDub refused to allow me to resize it without crashing! Honestly though, it actually looked worse than that. I compressed some of the worst clips with Windows Movie Maker otherwise there would have been way more choppy lines instead of just blurry footage. Also not helping, I use Sony Vegas and it kinda won't let me convert anything into NOT wmv. format. I'm doing these for kicks though so I'm not really aiming for perfection or anything yet. I do try and put effort in it though.

Other than that any other critiques or advice for me? I'm still basically a beginner to making music videos. I will take advice with open ears. :D

This would be my 3rd full music video ever. I want to say 2nd, because technically my 2nd video listed here was just a different edit of my 1st. This deals with completely different subject matter. Also my first time doing anything with video game footage.

Lastly, yay for this is my fist post here since joining. XD

Okay I checked it since I finished Crisis Core 2 days ago (awesome stuff). Well okay you say yourself bad quality ---> It was horrible actually -_-

Anyway despite the quality the crisis core footage looked a little stretched. Your AMV was really random with scene selection. I could hear that the song is a remix/cover from J-E-N-O-V-A but I really hate techno, but when I started the video i thought it had quite a nice flow. But.....

At around the 3 min mark I had to stop the video simply because it was really random and the song was pretty much the same all over (that's why i don't like techno so much) Well I will not keep that AMV, but you are actually on the right way, just look for a song that isn't annoying and get your quality fixed.

I can't give you more than two stars on it ^^
