Depends on the thinpack, sometimes they are just the same disks in a thinner packaging.

Judge this is ADV we are talking about, all their thinpacks are like that...

I have the thinpack of Azumanga Daioh, I can tell you it's not what this guy has. It sounds like this guy has a bootleg.

The "full boxed set" (full sized DVD cases) from ADV would have the opening and closing on it.. the thinpack would have just the series no extras.

and as for the original topic: if they aren't on your dvds then you are going to have to buy the REAL DVDs because we can't tell you where to "download" the outro...

As for ADV's thin-paks, in most cases they strip the extras from them, although there are rare exceptions. The extras are meant as a treat for those who support the show by buying the first runs, otherwise people would just abstain from them and wait for the cheapo thin-paks.

If you're patient though, you can usually find blowout prices on ADV DVDs (and other companies' DVDs, for that matter) every now and then when Rightstuf.com does a studio sale. They do a different studio each week, and this week just happens to be ADV.

The bitrate on those bootleg DVDs of yours must be something horrendous. You're talking about MPEG2 compression of an already compressed source plus a drastically reduced bitrate in order to fit nine eps on one disc, and that's before you even touch it. Depending on how you edit your AMV you'll be compressing it again when you convert it to an editable codec such as DV, and compressing it again when you generate a finished product. Might look okay for YouTub'o'shit, but your edges will look like serrated legos on any respectably large screen should you ever decide to send it to a convention.

I dunno, the clips looked pretty good in my Dumm Diggy Dumm AMV, and that was compressed into a wmv.

Might not be bootlegged, I dunno. *shrug*

WMV introduces quality problems of its own, but I won't get started on that. There's posts all about that on here somewhere if you're interested in reading them.

And there's no might about it, yours is definitely a bootleg. A good rule of thumb is that if it has Chinese subtitles, crams six or more episodes on a single disc, OR (not and) it's super cheap, it's absolutely a bootleg.

Try to be more wary in the future, and wherever you bought it from, don't buy there again. If I were you, I'd be furious with them.

Well I bought it on eBay.

That's kind of on me, not them. Back then I was just looking for whatever was cheapest. Bootlegs didn't really bother me cuz the quality looked the same to me.
