  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I'm usually the action type of person, and I rented this on my netflix and didn't seem all that interesting to me. But I put my Biased judgement towards the anime aside when I watched it in advance.
My apologies for not having any humping robots.

I'm glad this video was able to move you emotionally. That, of course, is always my main goal.

Try Herbal Essences. I hear that shit's like crack.

Hoshi no Koe is not for those with a short attention span. It's very, very, very slow.

Yet..

Something about this AMV kind of put it all together for me. It was very nicely edited, had a great encode, and wasn't "just another VOADS" video for me. I think some of the clips might have dragged on a bit here and there, but for the most part it was great. *meh adds to mah Ipod*

I got this reaction from several people, and it definitely means something to me. People that knew ahead of time that most Voices videos just about made them die of boredom said Countdown kept them awake. The slowness of the clips really had to do with the original pace of the show. I had to represent the source fairly, and so I didn't want to speed things up.

Glad it went on your iPod!

I liked the mood there was set, slow paced worked good with the song , which i wouldnt have expected.
Thanks!

Hmm. I really felt that the pace of the source and the pace of the show went well together, independent of the lyrical appropriateness.

Well, my biggest problem with the video is that it's just so typical. Nothing really made it stand up to the better VoaDS videos I've seen, and ultimately it was more or less just a face in the crowd. However, the editing was very competent - there was some nice internal sync and the lyric sync was never overdone. I had some issues with the video's flow - the video often didn't pick up right when the music did, which was a bit frustrating.

Overall, not a bad video, but it's nothing that I haven't seen done before. Although, I do have to say, you did a great job with the visual quality

I have to agree. No too boring, but not something that would keep my attention for too long too.

Seems rather generic to me, mostly due to the number of similar vids that have been announced recently using the newer (and better looking sources.)

After I actually gave it a moment to watch it I did enjoy it.

It was never meant to do anything more than express my understanding of the storyline. I never expected it to be anything that would inspire massive amounts of attention. I understood going in that I was making a romance video to an overused romance source. My inspiration didn't care, so I really hadn't much choice. I accept a low original score; I accepted it before I began editing.
However, the editing was very competent - there was some nice internal sync and the lyric sync was never overdone. I had some issues with the video's flow - the video often didn't pick up right when the music did, which was a bit frustrating.
I've certainly always considered myself a competent editor. As the craft has risen in standards, so too have I tried to make sure I raise my own personal standards. As for pacing, I really tried following an emotional ebb and flow, and so I found that sometimes forcing an editing change just because the tempo altered looked absolutely horrid. It didn't fit at all. It would have denied both the emotional pace of the lyrics, as well as the emotional pace of the movie. I just couldn't do it; trust me, if I had, you wouldn't have considered the editing competent, and neither would I.

Ugh. Tell me about it. The R3 was shitty to begin with, and encoding the mp4 was a real battle.

Thanks, Minion. See above. Crappy R3 was craaaaaaappy. I did exceptionally well considering the source material.

Fair enough. Thanks for the comment!

It's a Kio romance video. I wouldn't call my style "generic." I've had my style for nearly a decade now. It's just that I've had my style for nearly a decade now. :? I prefer to call it, "classic." 8-)

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
