Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

orly? *grabs razor blades* Alucard's a bish so this I wanna see

you seriously need to send vids to conventions to win some more anime DVDs... actually that may not be a good idea you'll end up with a cupboard full of Naruto

I think because of the type of video this is "trailer-esque" I won't be watching it much,

Decent at best. I had some mild issues with effects. If you're going to effects whore a video like this, expect to get a big chunk of your grade on effects. Also note that because of this I'll hold your effects to a higher standard than videos that use them sparingly. That aside, heres what I thought....

1) You need a solid effects template. Something to work with. The TV segments at the ending were good, and fit the ones before it, etc. It all worked and matched up. 2 Scenes I really have issues with are the scene with the digital letters flying up (or down or whatever) and the health bar. None of those fit with the TV design concept that you went for in the ending. Eye candy is tasty but not filling. Try to stick with similar effects. The health bar made it feel like a video game, dunno if thats a resident evil tribute or what, but it just didn't work for me. Made it feel fake and kidsy.

2) Your color corrected blue effect at the end needs to have deeper blues and more intense whites and maybe a nice glow to fit up with that of the Majors screens. Also, what happened to the venetian blinds effect you had used in the TV scene before it? That would have worked well there. Instead it just wound up looking like a nasty blue color with some noise. The major's screens also had a small bluish flicker going for them.

Good sync through-out, the effects kinda took away the attention to that though. Your sync was great and you muddled it with effects....
The concept was for the most part relatively solid. Unfortunately it just wasn't all that interesting.

6.8/10

This is just my opinion. But I thought it could of been better for you editing lvl and style. Now I know you only put about 7 hrs into it, but I still think it was enough time to make it better. Just couldnt get a hang of some of ae fx and the flow was ok but it flowed in a way that it just appeared boring. 5.5/10
