All Star Evangelion, my first AMV

Post by ethanl619 » Sat Dec 15, 2007 4:54 pm

So, here it is, my first ever AMV. It's the End of Evangelion with All Star (oh, wait, the vidid probably just told you that, huh? Guess I am a noob). Well, I don't know what everyone will think of it, but I'm proud I finished one, either way. So, enjoy. Let me know what you think (even though you were going to whether I said to or not). Thanks all.

Oh, and pretend there's a pretty photoshopped banner down here to please the eyes.

smashmouth you say?
I guess I'll check it out

*checks it out*

the first part caught me off guard, and was pretty funny...but I don't really think the song worked too well for literal interpretation. It might have worked out better for a purely comedy video.

A solid attempt at lip sync, well done for a first video. There were a lot of noticeable pauses in the video to achieve the lip sync which you'll want to avoid in the future. You can do this by masking (go to the sub forum for your editing program for help on this, or ask in the special effects forum)

sync was a bit spotty, but that's pretty common for first videos. The first thing I would work on is making your clips change on a beat, and then try to make at least one thing in each clip fall on a beat or a word or a cymbal crash or something.

It's good to see someone who actually reads (most noobs skip over the vidid announcement)
Overall, the video was ok. 3/5 (comparing to other first videos)

Being a die-hard evangelion fan (and it being my first anime I actually bought), I couldn't help but laught my ass off during the entirety of the amv.

The first part was like WTF!

Your lieteral sync didn't work too well, IMO, and I think this could hav ebeen much much better!

Visaul quality was like: Bleh..

This song is really simple to sync to, and you missed several important beat syncs and/or special spots.

But still..

I can't explain it, but I really did like this video! Very nice work for your first video, and I'm looking forward to more work from you!

If ya need help or anything, just shoot me a pm.

Technical Score: 3.25/5.00 (Slightly above the average noob AMV)

for a first amv it wasn't that bad actually, that and for an eva amv. it was fairly funny in a ironic way (i like irony in amvs), only major thing i didn't care for is the weird framing on on the video. that would be easily cropped/zoomed though. i don't know if the dub audio in the start of the amv is quit fitting though. i am not a fan of dubs in the first place. but nifty video you are off to a good start.

I loled, but I had gotten bored of the initial amusement factor halfway through.
