I keep a list of AMV ideas for future reference. Whenever I get an idea, I write it down, then add it to the txt file when I get on the computer. The format I use is 'title - anime- song - type', for example:

'Speck of Hope - Princess Tutu - Unwritten - Ahiru chara vid' becomes

Hmmm...Jasta85, you said that you've been dealing with a lot of college recently? You know, one of the causes of writer's block is stress and anxiety. Often times I get a creator's block from all the stress from

Anyways, as for curing your block, the methods which I found most useful:

-edit the first thing you get your hands on, regardless the quality of the results.

-If you're in the middle of a project, and you just don't know how to press on, use simple editing techniques rather than constructing complex concepts. An idea just may spring to mind while down the path.

-take a break. Maybe your mind needs to relax. Maybe you need to play some video games. Maybe you need to get laid. I don't know, just take a break.

-Watch some videos. Doesn't have to be just AMVs. Whenever I'm in an editing block, I simply watch some of my favorite movies and learn from my favorite movie makers.

Here's a method that guarantees a cure for the mind, but requires a lot more energy:
-Travel. Maybe you need to see a little portion of the world. Maybe you're just too sheltered. After all, spending time indoors in front of a computer for long periods can dramatically affect the mind.
But what I've learned from traveling, is that experience is the best tool for spawning ideas.

I agree too. If you're looking for something original, than by all means do something out of the ordinary. After all, couldn't the non-ordinary lead to the original?

Just take some hard rock and sync some Death Note to it. If that doesn't motivate you to think harder, nothing will.

thanks for the advice everyone, ive got a really ambitious concept that i do think is going to fufill my desire to make an amv that is:
a. very original
b. going to make people go "omg what did he do!"

the cost is that im going to be drawing from probably about 20-30 different sources and have a helluva lot of editing ahead of me, however, i am finally inspired to do something, hopefully i should have it done by new years
