Well, while playing a Konami game on the NES such as Contra, you'd press that string of buttons and you'd get a large number of lives or something equally useful. It was in a lot of Konami games ;)

Yes, you got 33 lives as opposed to the measly three, and in my opinion it was the only way you could beat Contra (which was one of the most unfair games of all time).

The deftones song seems to be an obvious reference to that.
In this case it signifies bracing oneself for a great undertaking (i.e. summarizing all that crap).

@Kariudo: Yes, please. Let us see. The very end of my track requires knowing how yours is going to start, so I'm curious to see.

Oh yeah Contra 3 was hell. I played it on my Snes emo. The only way to beat it was with the quickload and save function.

Mhmm Can we use the summary for the final credits? Something like a background pattern ^^

That wouldn't work well imo.

If you use it as background, as not obvious "omg-read me now!!!1", it couldn´t work. Just a nice stuff that runs in the background and if you´re really interressted into it, you could pause the player and read it.

@Kariudo: That was fast. Right on. I'll watch it tonight.

As far as the text goes, I've already considered it and I think Kaxi's right, it wouldn't look so good to have all that text in there, even as a background, unless one of us figured out some brilliant way to make it look good. There's just too much of it. I think it would be better, if we did that at all, to just have choice quotes float by in the background.
That way someone sees: "Rape me with pink scissors" and goes 'what the hell was that?'

lol

While I was reading your post I seam to have the same ideas you have. Even the first quote I was thinking of was "Rape me with pink scissors" ^^
Alright. Let´s think of Kaxi´s awesome outro of the Blümchen MEP. Something like this would work. We show some parts of the track and give a quote too.

@Kariudo:
My clock say: 1:26 AM. I go to sleep and watch it tomorrow!

Yo, Kariudo, I liked the tunnel thingy you had in your older beta to start the track a lot. You should keep it.

As for the rest, 2 things:

-You probably already know this, but for your track specifically, I don't think straight cuts are gonna cut it. The song structure is too complex.

-Your mood doesn't need to be happy, you know. It has to be "Gateway". Fred's beta is a great example of the kind of atmosphere you should be looking for.
