ha!
well deeeeeepppndssss mebbe one of you guys set there like
do this do this and one of u actually did it?
=p
haha
anywaysss

lots of different feedback, didn't really feel like commenting.. till now.. O:
i think, each editor really made the project their own. each track has their own unique style.. and some are better, some are worse... *shrugs*
maybe the different styles somewhat disrupted the "flow".. yea...
true what katie said, lots of pressure on editors. with my track i was sittng there trying to make something i don't usually make... in the end it ended up being mostly chroma keys and some rotos and simple editing... so basically i did what i usually do except for some new fx.. kinda.. but yea.. pressure made some ppl do their best work, and their tracks were awesome. and then there were some tracks which weren't as great. some tracks that were lazy. last minute tracks. my track was petty last minute. i like it though, and i like the project, and i -loved- seeing it at AWA, and I love the awesome animation Deshi did... even if Sakura's wand is a wanderwand pro =p
So yea, maybe it's not the best thing ever, but it's still pretty great. And it was fun. And it can't please everyone of course, but seems like theres still quite a lot of people who like it. so yea =p

Haha...actually, Reigna and I pretty much worked on every second of our segment together. It was our intent from the beginning to fully 'collab' on our track, and that's exactly what we ended up doing. We didn't want to just split it up into segments for eachother to work on and call it good...that would have been the easy, much less satisfying way out. :p Working together on every single aspect together was challenging and very time-consuming, but an amazing experience at the same time, and we're happy we did it that way - there's really no other better way to collab. ;)

Anyway, anything I have to say about how the project turned out has all been said multiple times already. There were some highs and lows, but it turned out pretty well, imo. Good times, indeed.

Hehe, it's a bit funny that people compare this to the first one. To be honest I hated Ayumix 1. It was very drab and boring with every track relying on nothing but pretty scenes and core sync with little to show for technique or variety. And with Ayumix 2 it looks like we went in the totally opposite direction; lots of technique but some blase core sync. It's all a personal preference. >.>

As for the editors feeling pressure to impress, well you can impress by doing your best example of your own style rather than cutting straight to roto and FX to please the viewer. Granted, I'm not one to talk, but hey, I thought since everyone was going with roto and gradients, that I'd have some fun with shapes and texturing. I wish some of the simpler editors in the project did more with their distinct editing style rather than feeling they had to go nuts with roto and colors. But hey, everyone gave a good effort and the project is a good watch. Mebbe Ayu 3 will find the balance, if there is a 3.

Some like it, some hate it, deal with it. Nuff said. No need to get all defensive. :P

WOW! Most of the op givers were the creators. I'm ashamed. Not to say anything bad about the video itself. May check it out later.
You mean just like a studio member doesn't op one of their members vids? :o. But, overall things like this happened for a long time now before the op system changed. :|

WTF? Was that the ayumix logo that just flashed across the screen?
2x. Could've sworn I seen that in Animix?(Great Now i'll be getting some crappy PMs tonight)

Overall there would still be complaints if this project was done the other way around. Someone would still find a Air Hole to breathe in.

Same. I ended up canceling the download because it was gonna take forever, and I got my friend to get it for me.

Still, I have to wait until friday before he can give it to me ;__;

okay it's been awhile here's some thoughts made without bothering to check who made what so at least you know they aren't byast:

Intro:
 just too fast on the camera movement
Last exile: good pace where the footage was to slow you compensated well and fire works, the masks were too slow for the music and quite dull the footage needed some sprucing up, and some of the scenes added nothing to the track (like cooking in the kitchen for example)
Shuagana no shana (sp): the sync at the begining was off with the footage moving behind the mask, the iris (black around the edges) looks bad and it grates on me after a while. about 1:39 onward this pics up emensly, but really you are changing scene to fast here, it feels rushed and the flow of clips speed does not go with the music at all. And jesus christ enough with the black flashes already. The cleaning 'deshi did here was good tho no patches in the black (well not that i noticed) I do like the colourful masking/siloettes in this one and the sync is off again at the end , coulda done without the radial blur tho -_-
Heat guy J: I've been seeing that effect with the red/green outlines a lot recently although it helps with the sync... perhaps a different set of colours? because they look fuggly much better flow than the previous segment.
Kingdomhearts:way to compensate for shitty footage, hide it in effects but my major gripe is that it feels like a pointless filler segment, that said there shoulda been more game footage in there so this didn't feel left out oh and the boxes down the side are well... lame, coulda spruced em up a bit maybe with images or w/e.
Full Moon Wo Sagashite: not bad on the lipsync (I can't do better XD) needed to disguise your edges a little more and the film grain was uggh, maybe a sapphire artsy plugin woulda come out better fades felt a little fast that or the footage is moving a little slow, I have no idea what the feet in the masking were for tho... the saturation needed increasing on this segment. Some of the masking was bad and yet others were really good.. so I'm undecided on this as a whole
Gadguard: internal sync ftw. nice cube effect/idea juuust different colours woulda brought out your footage more. This is by far the best synced track in the mix.
Blackcat: starts off really cool I was all g-ed up... then well you lost me completely in mundanity until 6.07 now it gets much more interesting. i don't like the begining of this transition but the end of it is nioce oh these last 2 are a welcome change from the overwhelming amount of shujo (sp) in the whole vid
Lucky Staaaawwwwrrr:and I thought I rampantly abused shine in my latest vid... I was wrong. hrrmm super thick outlines to hide bad masking -_- apart from the way overused anime choices for "dance" this has the best energy of the whole mep, the pace just keeps going and i find myself nodding in time XD
Burst angel:I watched is and felt like this was done by so a certain VNS member o.O anyway great scene choices and emotion building good variety of sync methods, and overall it's smexy, not sure about the masked black and white mecha tho... wierd i suppose
Touka gettan: um ok psychadelic mask actually looks hawt. but the generated background through most of the track is... just so blase
Card Captor sakura:yes there's a mask of a chick moving around.. again and again and yep again also I can see the no so clean edges, *sigh* nice crossfades tho.
Mix of about 5000 anime I can't recognise: so you have AE, yes we noticed, there are just effect after effect that don't really have anything in common, if this blends into another segment then sorry I couldn't tell theere were just to many effects. up to about 1:14 your synce was nice as was the visual quality but it all felt rather pointless.
Sailor Moon (and others):the light flashes are actually off beat, on the plus side you are showing that scenes can be held for a while in dance tracks without effects... on the down side you alternate between useless flashing, pointless scenes, this track is just dissapointing, there's such a glaring difference between the sources oh and there's interlacing :?
Kannon: interesting track to sync too, I'm not sure if i like the scene moving but it's certainly different from the rest of the tracks in that regard, also the masking particuly the hair was erm in need of werk(so there is a happy ending to the series?)
end credits:These feel rushed like there wasn't enough time/music left over... well there isn't to read them that's for sure.

sorry for the spelling mistakes i was typing quickly. Over all it's a pretty good MEP, 'deshi you did a nice audio mix and some good track transitions. i'd have to say 8/10...
new banzors in the making :p
