I believe Vegas is able to import them directly, but you could always just run them through winamp to convert to .wav, iirc.

Ok, well Bauzi, I can try to work with it. If for some reason I can't figure out how to convert it, I'll ask you to send me the file in a different format.

You can convert .flac for free into .wav with:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/
(converts everything to everything. Recommended, because it´s usefull for future audio converting)

@Krat: Cool. If I remeber right. I tried it with Premiere. It didn´t worked.

The idea of flac is to make a looseless audio file smaller, right? Ok... Uhm I´m limited to a monthly transfer volumen of 2GB per month for my internet traffic. That´s not a lot. Right now I might just have 100MB left. However it made me think different.

Why should I send 1/3 more MB for a .wav when .flac does the same? *cough* Beside that the other one can only use .wav by now *cough*

If you get your audio from the internet in looseless. It doesn´t even has to be the ilegal way. Legal example:

... you get most of the time (I think so; at least for the new stuff) the formats .aep or .flac for looseless audio files.

It´s like... why should I use .asf if there is already .mp4 as superior container?

Well then why not just convert the .flac to .wav and THEN send it to me?

To be correct: I convert it FROM wav to flac =P

I think that we´re one of the last ones here. ~2 years ago they just started to sell flat rates. I hope that we get one too next ~June. Would be awesome ^^

Ah yeah a better example for the others here:
.wav is like the video codec Uncompressed.
.flac is like Lagarith. It spares you MB. Imagine you work on a complete film and you want to store it. You could store the looseless video file in a .mkv with a .flac audio stream. Makes sense.
