Alright. I'll make this short since I need to go in a bit.

First of all, the video wasn't bad at all. You had some interesting sync ideas(like the camera pulling in and out), but they felt a little off at times.

You mentioned you were a noob at encoding on your profile, but it looked pretty good. I'd say looking through this guide would help that out a bit. It's good that you're willing to give it time, because a lot of people don't even care about video quality.

The audio went a wee-bit too long, personally. You probably could've cut one or two chorus' and I would've loved it.

Also, the intro-credits were just too long, in my opinion. It shouldn't take that long to get into the video.

But, not bad for your first here. I liked it. :) 3/5

That wasn't all that bad ;)

I had problems enjoying it till the end because it was quite long. Don't get me wrong though. I adore long videos, but there are certain requirements and your didn't fulfil them properly. Even though the song was surprisingly well captured by your mood sync, there wasn't much of anything else in the clip selection. It was random to the point of not making sense at all. But it's Lain afterall, so I know how hard it might be to keep the clip selection right and solid.

Like Rave_Epic said above, you had some interesting sync tricks. But the flow wasn't really there. The cuts were not well-timed as they should have and I felt like beat sync or whatever was left ignored most of the time. But the clips didn't clock-in badly so there were enough of them to keep my attention on it.

2.75/5 Keep on editing!

Got.

Concept was outstanding. Loved the audio choice. It sounds so much like Boa (who did the opening theme, Duvet) that I had to double-check it wasn't them. Which is amazing because I associate that sound with Lain... Editing was in general very tight, and the effects you used were used well.

There were several things I did not like. I concur with Rave_Epic that both the credits, and the video were too bloody long. I also didn't like the lip sync. Rather than add a creepiness factor, it was laughable, and served to kick me out of the emotional tone of the video. I also wasn't fond of how the end just stops. Finally, your encode was horrid. There is no reason to be using DivX these days. If you must use a codec of its ilk, use XviD. It's much better. I, of course, am an avid subscriber to h264.

I think the video did an excellent job of capturing lain, and in general was very enyoyable watch. Editing was more than competent, audio fit. The video itself was too long, the credits were too long, and the end cut off too soon. Macroblocking out the wazoo. Still, I felt due to the accurate portrayal of the series, and the sound factor, review is high. I wish for a higher quality encode, but it goes in my collection regardless.

4/5.

Oh, Bikurishta!
I'm working on a new Haibane Renmei project so i'll take care of those aspects.
The songs souns prety well, the only problem is that it stops like that, i was thinking to remix the song at the point that it fits well with the end, but i thought that it would be a mistake, finally the mistake was to live the end like that. xD

Thx for that high rate O.o.

PD: While i was reeding this, the toastes got burned :nono:
