Hmmmm...
Sometimes editing a song can yield good results.
For example, I was messing around one day with "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who and the cover version by Limp Bizkit. I started out as saying..
"Hey! What if I overlay the Limp Bizkit version on The Who version? What would it sound like?"
That turned out not to work very well. Both tracks have a verse which doesn't appear in the other track. So I got to thinking...
"What if I took both songs and mixed various parts together to make it sound like Fred Durst and Roger Daltrey (The Who's Lead Singer) were singing together at a live concert?"
I worked with this idea, I got the track layed out and it goes back and forth between the tracks and the singers during the verses and mixes almost seamlessly together (both singers at the same time) during the chorus. Then for the live effect I gave the track a slight echo and pulled some crowd noise off of Metallica's S&M and cheering effects during the song.
I've never used my mixed version of the song in an AMV like I originally thought I would due to the fact that it was a bit to scared of the criticism I would get. But that never leaves out the future and now that I look back on it...who cares...I'm sure many people would like it.
Then again, I've always wanted to make a racoon video with a Chipmunked (150% speed increase) version of "Down With The Sickness". I might yet.

I cut and edit the audio on nearly every video I've made in the last 9ish months... I've only had 1 person notice and edit (as a problem not in general) it's pretty easy and helps you out of a tight spot when you need it.
but I don't recoment doing it constantly otherwise Prod will musrder you for destroying his music>.<

You, and maybe just a few others whose works I've seen, could probably do this and still make it look great.JaddziaDax wrote:and yea, if I saw a 5 min scene I thought went well with it I'd lay it down on the timeline anyways.

But I would bet that even people with the time and talent to edit to a whole song still consider editing the music, whether they end up doing so or not.
Pray 4 peace! Not an AMV, something you can do to help!

i only consider editing the music if i feel it needs to be edited.. most of the videos I've made I have not edited the music because it works as it is.
