Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I agree with everything said here, even the stuff I don't agree with.

I recommend this video along with your newsletter to anyone who's serious about anything.

First of all, that's not any sort of fuckin' advice at all. Was he being annoying and posting 'ZOMG NARTUO IS TEH BEST ALL OTHAR R SUCK!!1" No. He was not. And secondly, when I first started out, I only knew about Inu-yasha, and I made terrible, terrible shitty videos. And people like YOU made me want to give up. Did you already forget what it was like to be new? As for the Inner Circle, I'm fairly certain they usually leave their attacks to people who actually warrant one, whereas all gravegun did was post his video.

Gravegun: No, the video is not that great: YET. Everybody gets better with time and practice, and you won't be any exception if you try. First videos almost always get harsh criticism, can't expect to be perfect on the first shot, my friend. And never EVER judge a video based on source footage. You can use the worst anime in existence and still make a kickass video.

ahh yes of course you are 100% correct what i really must have written was, "give up making amv's because you completely suck and can never make anything good" and I have a memory block which prevents me from recalling what it was like making my first video using naruto.... oh wait that's right I haven't made one:|
Unfortunately for you the english dictionary disagrees with your definition of advice, some advice: I suggest getting your facts straight before being petulant.

Forewarned is forearmed and by alerting him(?) to the narutard trap now it gives him greater awareness of it's existence and the ability to make informed choices and avoid flaming, whereas if i were actually doing what you attempted to make me out to be doing I would have used much more forthright and malodorous language. In short keep yer pants on I wasn't attacking him just giving him advice which he can do whatever he wills with.

I find it amusing tho in a new editor announcement thread where the video isn't naruto people comment on the lack of naruto and vice versa... hohum
new banzors in the making :p

That's assuming someone gives a shit about being flamed when using Naruto as a source. Not everyone gives a damn about what's overdone and what ISN'T overdone. I believe he wanted advice on his video, not weither or not the source he's using is going to get him flamed. A lot of people on this damn forum say that Naruto has been covered at every possible angle. If that is true why is there only 12 good videos out of 13 thousand? So, there must be only 12 good angles that someone can approach to Naruto, rite?

Gravegun: I've seen worst first videos. Infact, I was very surprised by the video quality of this. Very very nice. The first song was pretty much useless and wasn't all that great at all. You had some sync in the beginning and it kinda went down hill. When the second song hit, I was already expecting it since I've read the comments here, but it WAS really abrupt. However, your second song really shined with sync and had a good feel overall. I enjoyed that bit, a lot. Good job!

Ileia's right. "You can use the worst anime in existence and still make a kickass video."

2.5/5 for effort but overall poor execution. You're on the right track. I've seen far worst first videos. Can't wait to see your next vid and I hope there is improvement.

Edit: Forgot this. Your scenes pretty much recapped the story and that's fine, but story+action = Usually not a good combination, atleast in my expierence. Let the explosions and asskickery do the talking, friend! ..Atleast in an action video.

Yep they do.

Anyway, for the AMV: didn't really see a concept and that's not a good thing. Also, it needs more sync for an action vid. Think more of how you want the viewer to react when you make a vid and you'll certainly do a good job. Don't let the harsh comment stop you from making amvs anyway, just try to improve as much as you can. 2/5 for now.
