I had a blast and a much better time than I was expecting... I wasn't sure how it was gonna be since a large portion of the people I normally hang out with weren't around for this AWA but it was a fantastic time. The parties were epic and I especially enjoyed some of the slower moments like Sunday Poker with SQ, SSGWNBTD Vlad and Beo followed by a great dinner with Quu joining us. It was a perfect end to a very very enjoyable weekend.
I expect SQ will be a card shark by next year and slaughter us all. ;p
oh Castor sorry were never got a chance to sit down and chat... the fates were against us on that front with just bad timing all around.

Rofl. No man, I am so shape challenged. I was thinking I had hearts when I had diamonds. It was really stupid. Had that been real poker, or strip poker, I would've been naked and in debt.Lord Rae wrote:

I'll try next year, though. Hopefully I'll be less poor.
My personal highlight of the weekend was hanging out with Kham and NME outside. NME is. Well, He's nicer offline than he is online, we'll put it that way. xD

Am home and for once actually survived the convention pretty well. My only casualties involved Vlad squirting lemon juice in my eye at waffle house, a sprained ankle from rave dancing in 3 inch platforms and a bad reaction to the mall Chinese food (twas an unpleasant flight home)
Some of the highlights:
Seeing Quu again after not being able to since 2004.
Dubbing bad hentai late night in the VAT and then coercing Vlad to do a yaoi one. Pretty much the entire VAT staff ran in when they heard him doing that and he even got a guest award for his masterpiece.
Finding not only a not horribly overpriced set of Texhnolyze at long last but also getting both of the Suikogaiden games (Suikoden II side stories never released stateside) which meant that while I spent more money than intended at the con, I have a lot of good source footage.
Rina is hawt in cosplay
Running around with toothpickvic, AquaSky/IcyCloud and some other people on sat night. Gettign massively drunk.
Seeing Doki rave dance in the VAT accompanied by several girls who were approximately half his age. Another incident where I wish there was video.
Drawing on Vlad while pretty drunk on Sat night. I think I got Doki later on if I recall properly. What the hell did I draw anyway? Guess people can guess once pictures exist.
AMV Hell 4 was pretty damn awesome.... now can we please say the horse is at long last dead and went out on a high note?
I am still a crazy and hyper drunk. It's been awhile.
Apparently to some Atlanta people my Chicago accent is pretty blatant
The awards was incredible. A lot of great vids won. I think most of us had bumblebee tuna stuck in our heads for hours afterward. And Masters had several fabulous vids in it. I am still amazed that Nessie and AtomX managed to win an award though with a vid using a source that was released on R2 on the exact day of the ftp deadline (ie they had 2 days to make and upload)
Meri had one of the best iron editor vids ever. Mike's was fun but her execution of the theme and the overall polish her vid had was fabulous.
Piracy is awesome enough to deserve its own designation.
And otherwise just talking to random people all convention. It was my first time at a convention and not working for the past 7 years. Basically I got to relax. I met so many people I wish I could list them all. I certainly plan on being back.

This year was a lot of fun. I saw a lot of familiar faces and met a lot of new people. It's too bad some of the regulars didn't show up, but Beowulf flew in later after many of us talked him into it over the phone. THAT'S AWESOME! I do apologize for Greg Ayres not showing up for the dinner. He had something come up. Maybe next time I'll get him or another guest to come. The AMV projects/contests were fantastic! I can't wait to get some of those (CG Bebop anyone?!)
I've got pictures, some that are going to be eagerly awaited by many of you. I'll post them once I upload them.
........just don't let JCD kill me for most of them.
